We arrived late afternoon on a Sunday and not much was open for food. The "Bar" is huge and served quite a full menu. Enjoy!

A small but nice English-style oak bar presiding over the hotel lobby where a happy hour piano player keeps it lively albeit schmalzy. The bourbon list was rather intimidating for non bourbon drinkers but the bartender knows his stuff! They appear to have other liquors below the shelf belt all the bourbon for the less adventurous

A quaint place to meet friends for drinks and small bites. The drinks are refreshing no matter what you have and the food, always excellent. We even spent over nite one time and service was next to none! Old fashion vibe, like many, many years ago.

Had clients in town and had the absolute best server! I think she said she was from Argentina. My clients were from all over the United States and were just absolutely pleased. Terrific service!! Will definitely be back!

Wonderful atmosphere in this historic Louisville hotel. We stopped in for coffee and dessert one evening. The piano player was entertaining. It would have been nice to have heard a nice grand piano instead of electronic. Good playing though. The dessert was artistically presented and tasty. Folks seemed to genuinely enjoy the good service, the food and the surrounding!

When in Louisville, the Brown Hotel is a must. The food is excellent and you must have a "Hot Brown", said to originated right here. The hotel lobby bar is an place where you can talk and hear one another, while having cocktails and conversation. You won't be disappointed with a visit here.

Based on the Trip advisor reviews we thought this was a must see hotel. We stopped into the Lobby Bar for a "beverage" after a day out in Louisville. It was nice but nothing special. I would not make a special trip here. It is like many older classic hotels I have been to in other cities. Very nice but... More

Enjoyed a couple of bourbons here while we savored our dinner, the famous "Hot Brown". It surpassed the hype surrounding it. This was truly the finest open-faced sandwich I have ever tasted in my life. Throw in the fantastic setting of the Brown Hotel just perfect.

The hamburger and truffle fries were not your kids burger and fries. How could a hamburger taste so good? And the Striptease dessert was the best dessert I have ever had. Caramel cup filled with liqueur and lit. The flame melts the caramel which flows over chocolate mousse below. OMG!

We sat at the tiny bar and were given an education on bourbons and the Louisville area. The bartender, John, was knowledgeable about the many different bourbons and picked one we would like according to our palate-he was right-on! He also told us about the city and surrounding areas to help us explore. The lobby bar area is quite elegant... More
