My group was at a convention at the Galt House nearby. We dropped by first for late lunch on a Friday. Restaurant had only a few customers, tables were not bussed, others waiting with few employees around. With another big group ahead of us, we bailed after 5 minutes with no attention. We returned that night around 6:30, to find... More

Doc Crow's has a nice modern decor, but don't let that fool you. The food is better at Appleby's. I have given Doc Crow's 3 tries and will not go there again. Although they claim to be a Southern Smokehouse, their BBQ is clearly oven cooked. I had the ribs twice and they were dry and flavorless. Not even a... More

We went with a large group for dinner at Doc Crow's on a Saturday night. The service was excellent especially considering we were a large party on a busy night. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It was good...not great. My friend ordered the Cajun chicken with bacon sandwich. Again, his reaction was it was good, not great. If we... More

Very unique restaurant my husband loved the raw oysters on the half shell. He tried two different kinds the ones from North Carolina and the other ones were from Virginia. I personally love the Apple pie à la mode! 😊

Very good, consistent southern smoked food served by hipster servers in gingham shirts and tight blue jeans, probably saw a few baseball caps too. It is housed in an old bourbon distillery building in a row of old buildings on Main Street in downtown Louisville. The smoked offerings are classics - Pork shoulder and ribs, beef brisket, and smoked chicken.... More

The service was spectacular, the drinks fun and delicious, and the menu was broad and comprehensive. There are tacos, oysters, bbq, salads, soups, and pasta. I had a bbq sampler, which was perfectly cooked, and my date had half a dozen oysters and caesar salad. We were both more than pleased with the dishes that came and the recommendations of... More

Met friends here for an authentic southern barbecue dinner. Our hotel concierge recommended it "Hands Down" for authentic barbecue in the downtown Louisville area. I had the delicious smoked ribs with a side of cheddar grits. I love cheesy grits and these lived up to my expectations. The ribs were delicious too!Everyone in our party of 6 thoroughly enjoyed their... More

They make a nice old fashioned. The fried green tomato appetizer was just the right combination of crispy and tart. The ribs were tasty. The oysters are fresh and clean tasting, albeit a tad pricey. The vibe is hipster which I'm honestly not a fan of. Our server was a very nice gal who I wish I could remember. She... More
