Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The restaurant has a nice decoration, friendly staff and the food is excellent. We have tried multiple pastas and all were very good. Definitely worth a visit if you are in nosy be.

Best restaurant in Hellville. The food is fresh and extraordinary, they have the largest wine selection and cocktail menu I've seen here. Very classy, and very affordable.

If you are walking around Hell Ville, make sure you book a table at Le Papillon. Considering you are in Madagascar, this restaurant has a high level of quality. There are some Italian dishes ( I am Italian I can tell you thery are good)...and some traditional ones, everything very good. Crabs are delicious, the focaccia is good, fish is fresh. I am sure you will enjoy tour meal. Please note it is open just for lunch!More

Refined place with very sophisticated and delicious food. They were just out of foie gras when we went there, but I was not disappointed with the fish tartare on toast : it was out of this world. All other starters and mains were also delightful....Would have definitely gone back had we had time. It was the best restaurant we went to on the island and quite a nice change of flavours from all the other places, you must try it if visiting Nosy Be! It also has a good wine list.More

Doesn’t look spectacular from the outside but they have a wonderful menu of Italian /Mediterranean food that goes well beyond the “standard” Italian fare. Four of us had lunch and every one of us loved it. Good wine by the glass options and plenty of...veg choices. Super efficient and friendly wait staff, barefoot but somehow appropriate in the laid back Nosy Be atmosphere. #1 rating richly deserved!More

The restaurant is housed in a colonial two story building, decorated with wood fretwork but looking a bit dilapidated. A small sign on the outside is difficult to see until you walk right up to it. Once inside the atmosphere changes and it welcomes you...with nice decor and lovely hardwood floors. In the day it is light and breezy and in the evening it is cozy and expertly lit. We all had appetisers and mains from a menu that changes from lunch to dinner and offers fresh suggestions depending on what is freshly available. Every entree was great and a couple of dishes even outstanding. Their foie gras was remarkable as were some of the cheese platters. Everyone loved their mains, a mix of fish, meat and pastas. The only disappointment were the gnocchi, a hard dish to get right. A good selection of wines was available and we had a superb SA white. The service was professional and unfussy. Good food, lovely ambiance and value for money. Strongly recommended and a solid four stars.More

A gem in the middle of a bustling town. Was recommended to us and we went out of the way to go. Not disappointed in the food, the service and the overall ambience. Definitely worth going to.

Excellent location on a nice open square in the middle of the town. In an old colonial house nicely decorated. Excellent service with very professional waiters. A very clean and well maintained place. Food is just heaven with large variety and freshly prepared products. Plates...are nicely decorated. It is the high end place in town for tourists expats.More

We were advised to eat here by the lodge we were staying at and considering whats generally available it was lovely. The house wine was lovely - Italian, and while the local fare is simple it was well prepared and served with a smile. It...also seems ot be the only place that serves certain Italian dishes like pasta and cold cured meats. Lots of expats eating here.More
