The restaurant in nicely decorated and the staff is very friendly. They have a large menu and the food is fantastic. I can see why it has been there along time.

Quaint, cozy restaurant. Well suited for family outings , or a quiet dinner without the kids. Very busy establishment, plan on a reservation or a wait time. The fried chicken is hard to beat!

This is the food I grew up with! Cooked the way mom and granny did. Love chess pie, chicken livers and congealed salad.

Last year, we stayed at the motel next to Kurtz so we ate there twice. This year, we only had dinner there once. Kurtz is a family owned restaurant and the matriarch is usually there, at the cash register or checking on diners. Last year,...More

Pimento cheese, sweet tea and homemade pies. Need I say more. This was a charming fine in Bardstown. When you walk in and see the pies you will be ready to stay. Also, try there Lima bean soup. We have had their pan fried chicken...More

I came with a group and they were wonderful! The group was over 20 and we were fed fast and the meal was absolutely wonderful! I had the turkey and dressing and the dressing was melt in your mouth flavorful!

Reservations not required, but it never hurts to call. I don't remember the hours but do remember that they are (or were) closed on Sundays and Mondays, and also from Jan 1 to Mar 1 for the cold season.
