The line was out the door and down the side of the building but all together the wait was only about an hour. I had the Z man with fries and it was so good!!! Be prepared to sit down eat and then get up so others have a seat!!! Would for sure go again!!!

Supper venue last night, highly recommend if in KC. In the June issue of Men’s Health, Anthony Bourdain writes about “13 Places to Eat Before You Die,” and he includes at number 13 Oklahoma Joe’s Barbecue (Kansas City, Kansas. Be pared to stand in line to get in.

I had seen many reviews and recommendations for Joe's. Had to taste for myself. Let me tell you, it really is delicious! I had ribs...my favorite. Excellent. Tender. Good rub. Good sauce. My daughter had tasty, thin slices of brisket. My SIL enjoyed a tasty pulled chicken sandwiches. Their sides were excellent! Dirty rice as good as my own. Potato... More

these ribs are a joke. There is no smoke ring and they fall apart off the bone. These ribs have been boiled and smoked for a couple hours and finished in an oven. People that think these are good ribs haven't been to the hood or other places in kc / don't know why this place has such a high... More

We always get the same thing, a 1/2 rack dinner with the bbq beans and 2 meat (brisket & sausage) with coleslaw. This makes for plenty of food and a nice variety. If you have to choose only one meat get the ribs. The very best!

We got to Joe's right after 6pm and there was a bit of a line. It it moved quickly until we were about 4th in line as the kitchen waits for there to be tables available before taking your order. By the time you order and pay your food is ready. I got the kid's pulled pork with BBQ beans... More

I have eaten BBQ all over the country and this was the best pork ribs I have ever tasted. Long line but worth the wait. The burnt ends were very good also. Highly recommend!!!

It is in an old gas station and the seating is limited so during peak times it can be difficult to find a seat. But we have never had trouble finding a seat. The food is great and the atmosphere is friendly.

This place was recommended to me and it was spot on. The line was about 20 minutes long but the brisket was the best I've ever had..hands down. Also had the "Z-man" another day which is a brisket with provolone cheese and onion rings sandwich - AWESOME! And the funny part is this is all in a gas station!

Never leave Kansas City without going to get their BBQ!! Everything is absolutely amazing! The sauces, burnt ends (try those if you do haven't before), the fries, just EVERYTHING is great!
