We ordered four appetizers to share, plus one main course. While nothing was outstanding, the food was good. An order of empanadas comes with three empanadas. One can choose among beef, chicken, or cheese. I would have liked one of each, but that was impossible; the order had to be three of the same. Service was prompt and cordial.

The tastes brought me back to time I spent in Ecuador years ago. Huge portions! My husband liked it too! Had the arroz con pollo and it was great.

First time trying Ecuadorian food. Will not be the last. Had some kind of cold fish with diced tomato/onion combo that reminded of Pico served with rice. Fabulous. Fried plantain also. Fabulous. Whole dish was very unique for me and darn tasty. Restaurant was very clean and neat and our waiter was very friendly and helpful. Will go back for... More

This is Ecuadorian-style food; it is not standard fare "Mexican" or Tex-Mex. I really like the flavors here. Service is good. Prices are good.

Service was really good, waitress was friendly. Food was good and the price was good too. There were probably 4 tables or so around 2:00 when we ate, which means people like eating there no matter what time. It didn't take long for our order to come out either. Thank you!!

We chose this restaurant for lunch because it promised a variation from Tex Mex or other Hispanic foods. We were not disappointed in having authentic Ecuadorian food. We're not experts, but the choices were obviously different from typical tacos, burritos and enchiladas. The lunch plates had an amazing amount of food. No worry about not getting enough. All the food... More

Large amounts of great food with a friendly attentive staff. We had never had Ecuadorian food so my wife ordered a shrimp dish while I had the pork. Both were very well prepared and nicely seasoned. The restaurant is located mid strip in a suburban shopping center and while the decor was simple it was functional and tidy. The owners... More

We have eaten here several times. It's our go-to any time we are in Des Moines. Our favorites for appetizers are the patacones con queso and the ceviche. For entrees I love the arroz mariscos (seafood and rice) which is a perfectly cooked flavorful rice with shrimp, clams, mussels and crab legs with carrots, onions, and peas. The carne asada... More

Since my grandsons ( 11 and 9) were not able to travel on Springbreak, I thought I would try an in town experience. We visited different ethnic restaurants. Mi Patria was so great. They helped the boys pronounce the items correctly, explained what each item was and was able to learn about different cultures. They had fun tasting/eating their meals... More
