The huge sandwich was excellent. I brought a new jar of BOETJE'S Mustard with me. This sandwich was very reasonably priced. We will go back again even though our round trip was over 200 miles just for this tenderloin. The meat must be cut from a pork tenderloin and it was wonderfully breaded. The French fries were also breaded and... More

We were visiting Dubuque for our anniversary when we discovered this gem of a place in a very small town north east of Dubuque. It turns out to be the oldest restaurant in Iowa and we couldn't have been more charmed by the host and owner, Mike. It turns out his place burned down twice and yet he was determined... More

This place is like an oasis in the desert setting high on the bluff overlooking the Mississippi in a neat little town with amazing 360° views. There's not much else to choose from in the area but no need, this place has everything you need. We had the buffet and the food was really good. They were constantly restocking it... More

Breitbach's is a must stop if within a 100 miles of Balltown, Iowa. This family owned establishment for over 4 generations is the real deal. We stopped in on Saturday night after driving in from Chicago , I had the enormous prime rib and girlfriend had the ribs, both were enough each to feed a family of 4. Heads up,... More

This is one of those places you have to try when you are in the area, this place is historic. We stopped on a river drive for dinner. Very busy, hustle and bustle. The food was OK. I had the prime rib, I wouldn't rate it as the best ever. I wouldn't even rate it as great. But the atmosphere... More

We traveled about one and half hours to eat here. Nice scenic drive. Food was okay and seating was fine. Would like to eat outside when it's warmer. The cost was average.

Gals motoring around WI and IA. Stopped for dinner. Interesting history about this restaurant. The buffet was wonderful and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely return with my husband sometime. There was also a beer garden.

Nice stop along the River Trail. There's great history here and the people working here are very friendly. We had the buffet which was fine ( a little too much fried for me), but the pie after was better. During warm days there's a nice outdoor seating area. If you're there during any daylight hours, head a little further north... More
