The place to have a lunch at La Desirade.
Nice menu, fresh food, great spot, efficient service !
The food is fresh and tasty, local and well supported by an efficient team.
The spot is really on the beach, offers a wide view on the lagoon, and is at a couple of minutes of the marina.
I am much happy to strongly recommend this restaurant I have experienced several times with the same level of quality.

A perfect restaurant for a meeting with friends. Resto La Payotte open concept dining room and two feet in the sand on the beach. Our hostess was waiting for our group of 6 people (ferry + minibus formula) with the famous guide Manu, everyone knows him on the island. After the complete tour of this Désirade, our healthy dinner stop at the La Payotte restaurant. Fine Creole cuisine served on the sunny beach and protected by a straw parasol. Starter: fish gratin, main course: grilled sea bream and or Colombo chicken and a frozen dessert. Succulent dishes with Creole aromas and flavors. Beer, wine and ti-punch to wash it all down. The service was very good. The places are clean. Prices are reasonable. It’s an appointment to end an excellent day of excursion.
Go ahead and enjoy your meal.

Restaurant on the waterfront, the setting is magnificent, the welcome is very, very warm.
We ate a delicious meal, with fish, cooked: grilled and in court broth, chicken with cashews.
The dessert to make everything “slide” to die for, small vanilla ice cream and cashew coulis.
Delicious side dishes to treat us to.
Top notch service.
We will come back for sure!

The setting is magnificent, but I am deeply disappointed by the welcome of the lady who takes orders. She told me that it was not worth asking for the menu, which explains the few choices available, especially for someone who is picky or like me, gluten intolerant. After probably upsetting her, she completely ignored us. I didn't get the lobster because I don't like it enough to justify the high price. Instead, I just had a chicken wing in my Cajun chicken dish, which didn't really fill me up. Fortunately, my husband was properly served. In addition, the house digestive was offered to the other tables, which is disappointing from a commercial point of view. Fortunately, the rest of the staff are welcoming and attentive.

Apart from the magical setting everything was horrible, from the staff to the plate. Not a smile, cold fries, rubbery fish, abominable rice with large uncooked canned red beans. A spoon-sized banana gratin. Not even a card to offer us anything. We're not used to being difficult but we had to complain at the end because we had such a bad time. The very unpleasant and robotic waitresses gave us the impression of being in the way. And you know what ? We were offered two of the planter's cubits as an excuse even though there were four of us. And all for 170€.

Very beautiful frame!!
But it's all meal zero.
A table of four.
Menu: 3 Creole plates (1 red pudding, 3 bland accras).
Dish: 2 uncooked lobsters, dry fries, dry rice even though it was mixed with red beans, 1 small spoon of yellow banana gratin, fish according to them fresh, but I don't think it was more out of Ecomax than anything else... in short disappointed even the mojito cocktail no taste (3 to 4 mint leaves and 2 pieces of lemon which fight in sparkling water and Sprite).
The vanilla ice cream dessert with their cashew specialties was very good, but really stingy in the ice cream cup.
The toilets really need to be reviewed too

We went there twice with our 11-year-old and immediately felt very well looked after! Here you sit right on the beach, with a beautiful sea view.
The waitress was a lovely person, we assume the owner, and ordering, without much knowledge of French, was no problem as she also understands English.
The food on offer ranges from lobsters to delicious Creole meat and fish dishes, to the very good pizza, which is available on both weekend days.
We definitely recommend the pizzas, the Accras (fish balls as a starter) with the heavenly homemade Creole sauce, the grilled fish and of course a good Ti Punch. For dessert we had the Flan Coco and a Payotte ice cream sundae with Cajun. To finish off, there was a delicious digestif, a liqueur.
We would come back anytime!

During our stop on Île de la Désirade, we went to La Payotte for lunch. There were four of us. When we arrived, the reception was cold and the mines undone waitresses who proved unseemly. Nevertheless the setting of the restaurant is beautiful and the view pleasant. The crashes were delicious. Chicken Colombo was well prepared. However, the cashew chicken for which we had been praised was a little bland, as was the Lobster which was a disappointment.

We wanted a festive meal before the holidays and we were delighted! No lobster this day. No problem, a perfect substitution proposal. Plate of the sea with a giant burgot in fine court broth, a whole crab, cooked just right, a tuna tartare with seasoning to die for and freshness! Etc etc... And with that peyi olive punch, seaside grapes or cashews as original as they are delicious. A view that will make us hate our daily metro life and finally a big thumbs up to Manon, Eugenie in the dining room, adorable from start to finish and Daisy in the talented kitchen! When are we coming back?

We had a pleasant time at La Payotte. Eugenie was very caring with us and we enjoyed an excellent meal: lobster and chest fish. The setting is exceptional, we eat with our feet in the sand, facing the sea, we recommend and will return before our departure from the Desirade.

Excellent meal with your feet in the sand and beautiful view of Fifi beach. Stop at this restaurant because it was part of a meal stop following an excursion to La Désirable in the am and then heading towards Petite Terre in the pm. Very good cod accras with dog sauce, choice of fish (sea bream) or chicken colombo with coconut flan or ice cream for dessert. Everything was tasty. Special greetings to my Belgian sidekick Manon (who was our guide on the island in the morning and waitress at the restaurant). 😉

Excellent choice of restaurant included in a crossing + guided 4x4 tour package.
The meal is served on the beach (breathtaking view) in a pleasant atmosphere.
Manon, our waitress (but also our 4x4 guide) takes great care of us, with incredible dynamism,

The meal was delicious, we tasted local specialties including the famous stuffed chest (fish with very fine flesh), sea bream with banana puree (excellent!!). The setting is magical and the welcome is very warm. We highly recommend. During our next vacation in Guadeloupe we will come back.
