Food is always excellent here. Last time I visited was with my wife. We split a tenderloin and sweet potato fried. Tenderloin is unbelievable. Served on 2 buns we each took a bun and still both of us took home half a sandwich. And it was made there and delicious. Sweet potato fries were fine. I've had the omlets before... More

It is really hard to fine a hometown diner that pleases your belly. This place is good. It does the trick but I wouldn't go as far to say it's phenomenal. Again, it does the trick. Service has always been good. Staff have always been polite. It is clean and plenty of places to sit. Street parking but again, unless... More

This place is so solid it has become a planned stop for us whenever we are in the area. Charming and delicious says it all. No need to innovate here, just the oldies and goodies: Fluffy, delicious pancakes, crispy French Toast, awesome bacon and sausage, and wonderfully irresistible pies made in-house. (Yes, we had pies with breakfast.) Plus, the wait... More

We were driving through Iowa and I refuse to eat along the interstate so we drove into Newton for a Sunday lunch. A very busy place where everybody knows everybodyMy wife had a cheeseburger and fries. A good burger fixed on a "flattop" grill. I had a "cornet burger" just to see what it was. Again it was a cheeseburger... More

Everything a small town diner should be. Sizeable portions, good food served by gramdma. I had a very large chefs salad, my coworkers had a burger and fries and a classic deep fat fried pizza burger that looked unhealthy...and delicious. I've had their pie before and you should have a piece...if you have room.

Overall the experience was pleasant. The interior could have been nicer, as my chair was a little broken and the ceiling was missing some tiles. Food was pretty cheap but decent in quality and portion size. Pancakes and burritos were huge. I had the biscuits and gravy, which were okay, as the gravy could have been heavier on the sausage... Great place to take in a breakfast. On the square in downtown Newton. Exceptional wait staff, all the breakfast favorites, and very reasonably priced. Stop in, you'll enjoy Support the small business.

Granted it was Father's Day and a big race weekend at the Iowa speedway, they should have had their kitchen manager or whoever runs the timing of order tickets put in and food put out, fired. Super wait staff there for apologizing for the wait. All in all, I'd go back again and will recommend to others.
