Great "fast food" tacos. Very authentic, great prices, and they have even added flan! What more could you ask for. Maybe fountain soda instead of cans? Still very good food.

It's tough to find actual Mexican food in the US (as we become accustomed to american-ized knock-offs). So I was thrilled to hear about La Regia Taqueria in southwest Iowa City. This establishment offers the eatery connected to a Mexican meat market, decorated with colorful...More
I'll have to admit that my first thought upon entering was to turn around and leave. The non-description strip-center storefront is totally devoid of ambiance. The good news is that we stifled that first instinct stayed. It turns out that you don't go for the...More
On Highway 6 West in Iowa City, this unpretentious eatery is popular with students and anyone looking for a bargain. Don't feel like splashing out on a drink? There is free iced water in carafes on the bottom shelf of the cooler on the right....More

They have great food here! We were doubtful when we received our nachos because they look like somethin you can find at any concession stand. But their chips are great, and the cheese has a good flavor, so we were pleasantly surprised. We also tried...More
This is by far my favorite Mexican in Iowa City. Judging by the lines which are always there, it's the same for many of us. You'll stand in line at the counter to order your food. The menu is on the wall above the counter....More
This is not a place to have margaritas and tacos. They do not serve alcohol but one of the best tacos I have ever tried. Very simple, very authentic, and tasty. Great price and value for your foodie soul.
So many cuts of meat to choose from, including tongue and tripe. You can get just a couple of the tacos for a snack or get the California burrito, which has fries in it, if you want to be stuffed.
