While I've strayed from time to time, the philly is the sandwich to get (now they call it the cheesesteak) - roast beef, green peppers, onions, provolone on their famous focaccia. Too good! Since they remodeled the space a few years back there is pleanty...More
South Union is a local favorite - serving up great hot and cold sandwiches. The atmosphere is very rmodern, with great poster-type pictures on the walls. Many professionals gather here over the lunch hour - so it does get busy, especially on Fridays.
Iowa wouldn’t normally be the place people think of when they want a piled-high hot sandwich on fresh-baked focaccia bread, unless they’ve been to South Union. The hearty Hot Italian sandwich features five meats stacked atop warm, fresh baked bread and every bite is scrumptious....More
If deli and homemade bread is your liking, this is a must visit.

Be prepared to spend $7-10 on your sandwich, but I can easily make it last for two lunches. The garlic foccacia is the best. The service is always really hurried at lunchtime because the place is so busy, but it's appreciated when you only have...More
If somebody wants a good sammich and they don't mind droping 5-8$ we walk to this place from the office. Nice selection of sammiches with original names and flavor combinations. The focaccia here is outstanding and comes with pretty much everything. Potatoe soup was good...More
This is the best place to grab a sandwich downtown. There bread is amazing! The soups are also great. Order a 1/2 sandwich, which is the size of a "normal" snadwich.
I was hungry and thought that a large sandwich would be good - turned out to be a huge sandwich (3"X8"). The small would have been plenty. Tasted exellent. Used their wonderful garlic foccocia. Also had the tasty bread for dipping with oil.
