Great ambiance and music. Unfortunately, after receiving our meal, our waitress disappeared. Food was average.

We had been to the Lighthouse several time is the past, but it had been a couple of years since our last vist, We were there to enjoy memories, but our expectations did NOT match the experience. On the plus side, and our server was a very pleasant and attentive young man, and $2.75 for a Sam Adams was a... More

If you are from the era where you would drive along the two lane highways until you got hungry for good food, this place is for you! We stopped in on a Saturday night (they don't take reservations) and had a 20 minute wait for a table. That's ok, we hung out in the lounge and had a drink, while... More

Has been six years since last visit to The Lighthouse due to poor service and less than average food. Recent trip here I have to say the service was very good in spite of a busy night. How ever the food I can only say was average. Not a place to avoid but occasional dinner here is OK.

The Waterboy, which we saw once in the beginning, when asked for his recommendations informed us he had never eaten there. That should have been our first clue. Our waiter recommended the ribs. I received a plate of barbecued bones. What little meat was on the bones was so crusty I would have broken a tooth had I had dentures.... More

This parking lot is always packed, so we thought we were in for a treat. We walked in to an over -tired decor (I kept thinking of the Titanic going down)we ordered the onion rings to start and they were doughy and under cooked. The friend shrimp undoubtedly came out of a box in the freezer. Our server was nice.... More

There were three of us in our party and we all ordered different foods. The walleye was excellent, scallops were gritty, and chicken breast was good. It was a very laid back atmosphere where conversation with your dining partners was easy and relaxing.

You can count on good service and good food. There is a reason it's been in business so long. Worth going to.

We've enjoyed a few meals at this place and find it to be a first rate restaurant. The lounge is pretty cool and is a great place for a nostalgic cocktail experience. Very good specials and exceptional service. Much better than chain restaurants.

Description
The third oldest restaurant in the state of Iowa (2nd longest running ) sits just on the outskirts of Cedar Rapids and still offers a great supper club atmosphere for folks looking for a home cooked night out. The Lighthouse Inn Supper Club opened in the summer of 1912 attacting travelers from Higway 30. The restaurant operates out of the original building-although it has undergone remodeling over the last 100 years but it still maintains the trademark Lighthouse out front. The Lighthouse Inn boasts alot of history and infamous guest , including Al Capone and John Dillinger. The Lighthouse Inn is best known for our Barbeque Ribs. It's our secret sauce that will keep you wanting more. We still do things the Old fashioned way!
