Have eaten here for over 70 years, nothing has changed - how can it be better than "Great". 2nd generation proprietor. All meals prepared fresh - homemade - moderate prices.

After hearing all about this place I was a bit let down. It was busy yes but very difficult to get refills on the tiny water glasses. Also not a very large of varied menu. What we got was fine and quick but there are better Italian joints out there.

I was staying as a solo business traveler down the street at the residence inn, so decided to walk over and give it a try. Great menu selection, yes the restaurant itself is outdated, but i think that's why I liked it so much... felt homey. I had the tomato basil soup on special and antipasto salad for one and... More

We dined near the end of a very busy football Friday night. The staff was clearly tired, but kept smiling and serving excellent home made pasta. The sauces and home made salad dressings are excellent.

Back in the day the Sunny Italy was the Italian restaurant in South Bend. I have not been to SI for years, but attended a business meeting a week ago. Arrived at 6:00pm on a week day and first noticed just a few cars in the parking lot. Inside were eight patrons. The place is very dated decor wise. Service... More

My boyfriend and I had a nice date night here. It was our first visit and the service, the food, the wine, pretty much everything was great! The interior has an old, family Italian feel with modest/low lighting for intimacy in spite of closely placed tables. A great experience for dining out but wanting to feel like part of the... More

I've been here twice with my friend's family and I am not impressed by it. It's not bad at all, it's just too expensive for average food.

My father started eating at Sunny Italy, before it was so named, back in the late 20s. I was introduced to this eating experience in the late 40s and passed the experience on to my sons, who have now shared it with their families. Family oriented and consistently good. I prefer the "Deluxe" and my wife the complete.

Oldest Italian restuarant in South Bend since 1926. Good food at a decent price. Excellent bread. The waiter was excellent

Went here 2 weeks ago for dinner, was overall not impressed. They give you tons of bread, then a mediocre spagetti dish, totally what you couldl make at home in under a half hour, and for less than $5. Not as bad as Roccos, but really not worth the money.About as Italian as Howard Johnsons. Not worth my 36$ for two,... More
