We live in the country 45 minutes from New Ross. Never having been there, we needed a GPS (at night) to find it. It has a nice bar and comfortable family dining area. We opted for the bar. We had the prime rib, filet and shrimp dinners. The food was very good and reasonably priced......cash only. Bottle beer and moscato... More

Not at all new, but clean and friendly. Not fancy but satisfying. The menu hasn't changed much over the years, but since it's good, why should it? Servers are knowledgable, local, and friendly. People talk to people there. Good dinner salads and home made dressing. And I've never had a steak that isn't good. They also offer hash browns, which... More

Although I've driven through New Ross a few times, I've never eaten at this establishment, until this evening. My order: 10 oz Filet Migon, shrimp, salad, steak fries and a house merlot. The waitress informed me that their 10 oz filet mignon was their best cut of meat. Since I eat a lot filet anyway, that's what I ordered. The... More

We stop in every couple of weeks for their great cheeseburgers, but their french fries are pricey. The waitress's are all fantastic and make you feel at home. Their hand cut steaks are very good, especially on a sizzling platter. Steak prices are a little high, but they are good. I think they are cash only, so forget your plastic.

Let me start by saying that I love steak. I also love good service. You will get both at New Ross. When I'm going to have a nice dinner out, this is always my first pick. I live a good 30-40 minute drive away, but it's worth it. They have a family side, and a bar side. If you have... More

They do have a different section for the bar. Food lacks flavor. Portion sizes OK. My favorite is grilled chicken chef salad. Wait staff OK,

Friday night out. Prime rib night. Big slab with good flavor. Cooked beyond medium rare as asked. Good service. Basic beer selection. Doesn't take credit or debit cards

I arrived at 8:30 pm and the parking lot was still full. I was seated quickly and ordered the medium t-bone. Nice salad, well cooked steak and a big baked potato. It was a solid meal for a reasonable price. If I am back in the area, I will eat here again.

Stopped at the New Ross on the way home from Indi to Chicago after reading about it in a bookstore. I was very impressed. I had a six oz Filet with potato and salad for 10.50. What a deal. My only issue, and they handled it nicely was I was able to write a personal check because they DO NOT... More

My husband and I had been traveling for twelve days and need a good dinner to top off a long day in the car. We were staying in Crawfordsville, IN, and heard about the steakhouse and took a short ride down the road. Needless to say, we had a wonderful surprise, out in the middle of nowhere. The steaks we...
