We had a 6:30 pm reservation for dinner at hollyhock hill. The staff there seemed to be very disorganized. After setting 30 minutes they came to take our order. Now i have a big family (15) so i understand it takes awhile to wait on everyone. 10 ordered chicken three ordered steak and two the chicken tenderloins. The staff brought... More

I have been getting carry out from Hollyhock Hill since 1980. I've never had a problem getting what I paid for until now. I picked up my carry out and when I got home I was missing half of my order. I called the restaurant back and they said I could come back and pick up what they failed to... More

Over the years my family has looked forward to celebrating special occasions at Hollyhock Hill. The warm, friendly ambiance and down home food served family style combined to make this a "when are we going again" type of experience. But that hasn't been the case lately. It just isn't the same.

Recently we had a party of 14 celebrating a birthday at Hollyhock. It is under new ownership so perhaps that was the issue. But service was mediocre at best. And one person in the party did not receive their food until the others in the party were pretty well finished. The fried chicken (what they are known for) did seem... More

We took a group of 8 people, got sat in 15 minutes within our reservation. They brought the soup quickly, unfortunately that is where the service STOPPED. they brought a small plate of cottage cheese, enough for one person, one small dish of beets, with 6 beets in it. We asked all evening for more but never received either. The... More

I have enjoyed dining at this establishment since I was a young boy. To me, Hollyhock Hill is like "McDonald's fries" every time you eat them there is no surprise. They are always the same and ALWAYS GREAT. Sorry, I hate to compare a Hollyhock chicken dinner to McDonalds but I hope this gives you the idea. Always the same/always... More

Food is served family style which we love. It is in a big old house and really gives a great Midwestern feel. The best fried chicken and corn on the cob and all the other fixins'.

Our family has been going here for over 55 years. The food has always been good and service is good as well. This time we were dissatisfied with our service and the amount of salad, Beets, and Cottage Cheese they brought out. We also noticed that they didn't serve the fresh veggies as normal. They did bring out extras when... More

Ok, I am biased! I don't care what you think! Hollyhock Hill Hoosier pan fried chicken is the best! Ever! No doubt about it! It was a Sunday tradition when I was a lad. It was the first prom dinner in 1976. It was my father-in-law's 80th birthday. It was Grandpa & Grandma Rat's 50th anniversary. It will always be... More
