Tasteless and boring cuisine without any real imagination. Just not worth your time really. The buffet is filled with traditional food which is to say, bad food from India.

Found this surprisingly good restaurant through GPS. Its clean, waiting staff is great and food is deliciously very authentic. They have kept the traditional dishes as they are in India I recommend it strongly if you are around Indiana dunes state park or even passing through I90.

We stopped here on our way back to Michigan from Chicago; we found it online, looking for something besides chain restaurant food. The outer appearance had me a little nervous; the restaurant is connected to a pole barn, which seemed a bit odd. But, I'm glad we went in. The buffet had a nice variety (the butter chicken was particularly... More

What a pleasure to have such authentic Indian food in Chesterton. We had fish that was prepared perfectly. We also had one of the fish curry dishes, naan. Everything was really good. The place was packed and yet service was good. Atmosphere is really pleasant.

Although the name is the same as the first restaurant on these premises that had closed, the owners are new and absolutely delightful. The food is not nearly as salty as much of the Indian faire I've had, and yet it's more tasty than before. The cooks have been taught how to season the food so each dish isn't overpowering,... More

Small, clean and nice place with some authentic indian food. Price is standard. Don't let youself get fooled with the not-so-good-looking view from the street. Overall, great value!

I was sad to see this restaurant go. It's very clean, the service is pleasant and the food is tasty. It's best to come for the buffet at lunch.($$) You get to try a wide variety at a decent price. The weekend buffet is a little more, but well worth it. The evening menu is Ala carte and costs more... More

This is real Indian cuisine, don't be fooled by the barn yard style exterior. The food here is great and authentic. The chicken Tikka Marsala was the best I ever had and the Somosas were wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that asks.

I was recently traveling to Michigan and spent the night on my way in Chesterton. I love Indian food, so I always look for an Indian place when I travel. I found Taj on my GPS and decided to give it a try. When I got there the parking lot was almost empty. I almost turned around and left, but... More

After a long hiatus the Taj is back. Daily noon buffet of delicious variety of dishes from the Indian Sub-Continent. The weekend buffet costs a bit more but worth it as a pallet pleasing experience. The evening menu is pricey but good for a special occasion. Carry out service is available.
