We didn't intend to eat here twice in one day but the good location, extensive menu, and decent prices contributed to our decision. Lunch was good...had the club and soup combo. Side order of broccoli was awful! Someone needs to learn how to cook it properly. Service was average. Dinner was delicious, had the Cajun shrimp and pasta dish. Service... More

Came to town for the running of the Carmel marathon on Saturday and stopped in late Friday afternoon for an early dinner since I'd be getting up early the following morning. They weren't very busy yet so we were seated right away. Had a nice $5 appetizer big enough to share while we looked over the menu choices. I had... More

We went to this place because of its closeness to the Hampton Inn. It is an average restaurant with average food, but a bit pricey. In a hurry I would go again, but if time is not pressing there are better choices in Carmel Indiana.

My friends came there for lunch. I asked them to bring me a bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup (I have had a cold all week, so it sounded like what I needed to feel better). Its what happened to be the soup of the day as well, so I thought it would be good. My 'bowl' of 'chicken noodle soup'... More

I went there for dinner earlier this week. When I came in, I noticed an abundance of empty tables which did make sense in as it was a week night. The maitre'de told us it would be a 15 minute wait. Why i never discovered!!!!!!!Went to the bar for 15 minutes, no table was yet ready and so I left. Poor... More

People love their burgers here!! All are 1/2 lb and cooked to order. Every other table had their tables filled with them. My mother-in-law had one! She said it was delicious and it came with ( on Thursdays) all the fries you can eat. The hot fries were very good. Unfortunately the 1st ones came out cold as did my... More

Each year we meet at the Carmel Max and Erma's to celebrate my birthday with my family. Our group consists of 14 or more and they do a fantastic job of accomodating us. It's not easy serving a group of this size, but the food always comes at the same time, hot, and as ordered. I especially appreciate the free... More

When I arrived I stood at the counter and had eye contact with a few servers who chose to ignore me, finally a server came and was short and acted like he was put out to have to seat me, he states he would be my server and walked away. After a few minutes another server came over and said... More

Had lunch there last week and found a new menu with no more 10 oz burgers. What?? No more free cookies on Wed? Most of this chain has closed and they might as well close the rest if today was any indication. Had their burger which was overcooked. Brought a replacement which was cold! Very tired surroundings in need of... More

The name on the building says Max & Erma's. The new menu, which debuted Oct 3rd, is a "shadow of its former self". The signature Max(10oz) & Erma(6oz) burgers are GONE. They've been replaced by a 1/2 lb. burger with reduced options. The former multi page menu has been paired down to a single, 2 sided, page of offerings. Thankfully,... More

Description
In 1972, Max & Erma created a fun, unique restaurant so friends and family can gather for good times and a great meal, and decorated it with eclectic artifacts and local paraphernalia. Since that day, we've been committed to providing our guests with irresistible heartland classics and friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere the whole neighborhood can enjoy. We've grown over the years, but always remain true to what makes us successful - delivering a great memorable experience so that every guest leaves with a smile. After all, Max & Erma wouldn't have it any other way.
