It's been awhile since I've had Homer's ice cream and it is still as good as ever. Even though it may not have as many flavors as other ice cream shops, their ice cream is one of the best I've ever tasted. You can't go wrong with any of their ice creams.

Family came in from out-of-town, and everyone wanted to visit Homer's for dessert. Three generations all found flavors to enjoy.

They make very good Ice Cream with their own secret recipe that tastes a lot better than many famous brand names that sales in the super markets.

This is the local ice cream/burger place popular for little league baseball players after the game. Also popular for local high school students and after movie goers. Peach ice cream is their specialty. Other flavors are available. Burgers, hot dogs, chicken breast sandwiches are on the menu.

I drove by this place for years and finally popped in for a burger. Go ahead and order it with everything. This is just a simple, classic burger off of the grill. No frills but just perfect. Make sure you get a milk shake to go with!

A good old fashioned Ice Cream Parlor. The ice cream was rich and decadent. The French Vanilla was so good, I wanted to go back for more but exercised restraint. My wife loves Pistachio and she said this was the best she had ever had. Our friends had Chocolate, Chocolate Chip and honestly can't remember what the fourth in the... More

Homer's Ice Cream Company has been a popular North Shore destination for ice cream lovers--who doesn't like ice cream?--since 1935, when restaurant owner Gus Poulos created his first batch of home-made ice cream that was richer and more satisfying than any other brand in the neighborhood. So Homer's evolved from a two-table ice cream parlor to its current location at... More

Homer's has been known for its handmade ice cream for more than a half century. They regularly rotate special flavors in addition to the traditional choices. Sundaes and milkshakes are very good. My favorite is the Oreo cookie milkshake, which they give you with a spoon because it's so thick.

I remember my first Homer's hamburger: Gillson Park, July 3, 1980-something. The juice just ran out of it. Yum! Then peach ice cream--a must during season. I'm a chocolate chip ice cream person and though Homer's is good, Mitchells is the best. (Southsiders will understand. ) This place is the best of both worlds: fast food to the left, ice... More
