People have been telling us to go here for years. We've eaten in New Orleans many times. The food was just ok. Gumbo and Blackened Shrimp was above average. Felt rushed. Got there at open, and they were already serving and waited an hour. Popeyes with alcohol.

We finally went to try the food here after considering it for a few years. There was concerns about the food being spicy but we went here with friends to try it out finally. OMG the food was AWESOME! The Gumbo was great the Jumbalaya was the best I ever have had and the Bubba Shrimp was Great! We will... More

We have had cajun and creole in Nola before but not in Illinois. THIS IS THE PLACE! The teenager and the four year old were liking their lips and really enjoyed the gumbo! They were up to try gator but were happy with po-boys and kid's chicken strips. Hubby and I really enjoyed the combo. Create a combo if you... More

Stopped here on our way to a resort in Sheridan, IL. We have a cousin who is from Galliano, LA (bayou) and my husband was also in NOLA earlier this year, and had a hankering for some cajun goodness. The outside of the restaurant looks like a hole in the wall. There were only 1 or 2 cars in the... More

Just returned from a great lunch. Brought my dad, who had been stationed in Louisiana during the service. Dad was impressed. Ron, you have another convert!

We heard about this place and had to try it as we love New Orleans food. The place is one of those unique restaurants that are hidden gems. The Cajun music set the mood. The service here is fantastic. We didn't wait long. The combo plates let us try a lot. The owner came by and added a personal touch.... More

Yes, it is just a local restaurant. One might say "a hole in the wall". However, really very good food. Especially, love that alligator! Not in the area very often, but when near here again, will stop in.

We get here once or twice a year. We have NEVER been disappointed! Great variety of Cajun food. We have ordered many of the menu items and they are always excellent! This trip they had the bread pudding with a hot berry sauce over it and a dollup of whipped cream. They have only had this one other time when... More

Well I said I was coming back with the family and we finally made it back in May. This time we went on a Sunday not long after they opened and were pleasantly surprised at the amount of seating especially since we were 8 people. We had a great time with Ron since it wasn't so busy and he even... More
