I've been going here for years now, and it seems to just keep getting better. Love everything about it. The menu has evolved (100% plant-based/vegan now), yet the atmosphere and obvious passion and friendliness of the staff remain the same. The cashew cheeze sauce is crazy good - you can get it on the free chips that come with any... More

I didn't know vegan food was so delicious! I loved the place and the grilled cheese. Perfect for a nice conversation with friends.

I'm a vegetarian and it is so wonderful to have a place in town that actually caters to the needs of a vegetarian instead of only making grilled cheeses or Caesar salads. The atmosphere is very.. Urbana. The last time I was there they played what I like to call "fairy music," which was a little weird. It's more of... More

The Red Herring has awesome vegan and vegetarian options - the portions are great and everything I've eaten tastes good and makes me feel good. Affordable prices for a quick lunch on campus. It feels very cozy inside as well - good for studying!

My favorite lunch item here is the BBQ satan sandwich. It is on the small side so you might want to order a whole sandwich rather than half. Their corn bread is consistently good.

I'm not a vegan. I'm not a vegetarian. I went because I was invited to "this really nice cafe" by some friends at school. I was hesitant when I showed up and realized it was a vege-based restaurant, but it actually smelled so good in there that my mouth started watering. I got the sagon Reuben sandwich and an apple... A vegetarian (vegan) treasure in the heartland! Great place for lunch or dinner but when we were visiting they were not open as much aw we would have liked.

Good food, good atmosphere, good prices. We visited at the end of the summer season just before they closed for a week. The food was excellent and though it was quiet with little traffic they had a live musical group playing. We especially liked the vegan desserts and the Falaffel sandwiches, but all of the dinners were excellent. We ate... More

I went in the evening to the Indian themed dinner. With a drink I spent just under 10 dollars. When they reopened they opened as a Vegan restaurant and according to the menu it looks like they try to use locally sourced ingredients. I had only been there for lunch but dinner was good. They close when the U of... More

I liked the Orange/Thyme/Carrot soup and the chipotle seitan sandwich. The nachos were okay, but I would have like to be able to do a half-order. Everything tasted really fresh. The prices are good and the menu has a good selection. Yes, the basement is a little dark, but it's still a good place for a healthy lunch made from... More
