The signs caught our attention. We both ordered home made pasties. Perhaps they were the best ones we have ever eaten. They were excellent. So was the coffee. We bought takeaway scones to have for afternoon tea and they were delicious.

Well we were headed to Café Bianca based on previous TA reviews and the promise of the unusual. Well it was closed so we ended up at Mormors and didn't regret it. Mormors is very unusual and quirky so I wonder how it differs from Café Bianca. Anyway the lady behind the counter promised us fresh savoury pastries from the... More

We stop whenever we're passing through Kaiwaka midweek. The food is always real, tasty and nutritious. Leah makes a great coffee and is a nice person in the bargain. Top marks!

Ok I'm vegetarian but hubby loves his meat and we are on a quest to find the best meat pie in NZ. I always cheat and have a bit so we both say these are to best todate. A bit more expensive but worth every penny BTW I had a flat white and a scone which are also worth every... More

This is the first cafe I've ever stepped into that literally smelled like my Grandma's kitchen, and my Grandma was an amazing baker. Although it's set in the rather quaint surrounds of a second hand store, the food from this cafe is an absolute delight. Everything is handmade on site, and tastes fresh and delicious. I also had a flat... More

We happened by this NZ national treasure of a cafe a couple of years ago and make it a point to stop in every time we travel up North now. The BEST sandwiches, scones, slices, coffee and tea, a lovely owner to compliment the food, an authentic amazing delight!

My coffee could have been better, but perhaps I should have got cows milk instead of soy in a place where the owner has her own cows ;) Either way, I shall not remove any of the 5 stars coz the owner is so nice and the pie was so good! Chic, quirky, fancy but laid back atmosphere. A gift... More

Quirky, friendly café with the best Parmesan, Onion and Sage scones ever! Well worth stopping for and interesting being able to look at curios for sale while waiting for coffee and delicious food

Driving back to Auckland from Russell we were in need of a morning coffee and happened on this delightful place. Our coffees were perfect and the savory scone was yum scrum! Lucky NZ still having highways going through little towns which offer good wholesome cooking.

Stopped into this cute wee cafe on our way home and was pleasantly surprised. A small, but impressive selection of home made pies, sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, and sweet treats. Really friendly service and nice seating in and out. Loved the old plates and mismatched help yourself cutlery. Good strong coffee and a sweet chai hit the spot along with the... More
