visiting the place the second time and we were again so happy. Excellent food ( fish) and cosy restaurant where time seems to stood still on the rooftop of a hill. Reserve a table and visit the famous cathedral and enjoy the stunning view.

Palazzo Gala, located in the wonderful and historic old section of Acerenza, is a culinary treasure. Chef Patrizia is an artist, serving tasty traditional fare from Basilicata with occasional modern and delectable touches. Her husband, Nicola, is equally as charming, catering to each guest with...warmth and humour. These wonderful people take the time to get to know your name, what you do, and what cuisine you enjoy. It’s 5 star food in a warm, cozy and unpretentious environment. I can’t wait to come back again.More

Nicola and Patrizia know how to look after their guests at their intimate and inviting restaurant, located in the centre of beautiful, quaint, Acerenza. Prepare to be treated like family where your every request is attended to with grace, care, and a personal touch.

I had the pleasure of eating at Nicola’s almost every day for the 3 weeks I was in Acerenza. Throughout my stay I tried something new almost every day. I highly recommend the pesto gnocchi and any of the fresh meat or fish they keep...stocked on beautiful displays inside the restaurant. This has been the highlight of my trip. This restaurant is a must try. Can’t say enough good things about it.More

Wow. Throughout the duration of my 3 week stay in acerenza, Palazzo Gala exceeded my satisfaction day after day. Nicola is such an amazing and caring host who really looks after your experience. The food was outstanding. Artigianal, homemade and classic Italian dishes on the...menu, but I really suggest trying the typical dishes of the Basilicata region. Nicola and his wife (chef) Patrizia will guide you and they always have great suggestions. Pasta is amazing here, they can fix you up any dish. Definitely try the meat and seafood dishes here though, so fresh and the quality is above par. Jeez, I’m really going to miss this place. I highly recommend to all, trust me, you won’t be disappointed. GRAZIE PALAZZO GALA!More

While living in Italy for a month Palazzo Gala became our home where we would eat almost every night. I managed to eat something different almost every night - though the meat Ravioli was too good to only have once. The Family Run Restaurant is...fun, friendly, cozy and with the right company - romantic. It is worth the trip to Acerenza!More

During my stay in Acerenza I ate here almost everynight. It got to a point where I had no idea what I was ordering but just simply trusted Nicola to make me something amazing with each meal. If you sit down here for more than...30 seconds a new plate of food shows up. Its truly unreal.More

Family of 4 visiting from Montreal, Canada loved this little gem in the heart of old Acerenza. The food was simply amazing; you will absolutely enjoy the experience especially you are a fish and seafood lover. The owner was very hospitable and his staff extremely...attentive. Highly recommended!More
