This restaurant was recommended by friends and it was wonderful. A large selection besides sushi. The cucumber salad was really good. Our fronds thought it was the best sushi they have had on the Northshore. Service was very good, nicely spaced out. We will be back. Thanks.

My wife likes to have her birthday celebrated at Koya. We carried out: she got Bento Box B and I got Crispy Calamari Salad, Shrimp Roll and Spider Roll. She loved hers (a lot of food!) as usual. The calamari was really good, on lettuce with a mild dressing. The rolls were built well but the ingredients weren't as good... More

This dual storefront (recently expanded from single) has great food and an engaged staff. It starts with a sincere welcome when you cross the threshold and a fond farewell when you depart. Sushi is tasty and satisfying. The bento boxes are a filling meal. Flavorful gum ice cream polishes it all off. We go there often, mainly as a special... More

Not too many Japanese restaurants impress my little Japanese mother. But this small gem of a place in Highland Park is the exception . Even Sushi Kushi's tempura Udon didn't elicit any hmmmmms from her danity mouth! I have to admit, Koya's tempura udon is fabulous on a cold winters night. The husband always orders the terriyaki beef, however his... More

Five of us had dinner at the new Wilmette location a few days ago, and were very pleased. Service was attentive and prompt, the ambience is calm and pleasant, and the food was superb. With five people, we sampled a great variety of dishes, and every single dish was at least excellent, some were extraordinary. Gomae, agedashi dofu, the seaweed... More

Cramped decor, but good food, good value, and good service. Not as pretentious as some other local sushi places.

I feel very lucky to have this as my neighborhood hang. This is a small family run place that recently opened a second location. Food is very good; we usually get beef teriyaki with miso soup and egg rolls. Service is always friendly and responsive. Always see the owners there and they remember you. When you arrive and leave you... More

A bit out of the way,and the new Wilmette location is probably more convenient for us. Golden dragon and red dragon are outstanding. Also had the sushi plate which while not cheap is well worth the coin. Best sushi I can recall in the area. Soup and edamame I would say are standard. Service very friendly and quick, though I had... One of the best sushi experiences of my life! Flaming avocado ball is great!!! Tamago (egg omelet sushi) is the best I've had! The cold sake came in a really cool bottle! Great times!
