We had a lovely old fashioned lunch here.Good service in a great old building. Don't expect anything fancy, but fairly priced and good food.

We were there on a quiet Sunday morning for a breakfast before we hit the road back home and were quite pleased we decided to go back downtown. The orange juice was amazing, very fresh! We had a great table right by the window. Awesome food!

We headed into Galena to check out Main Street and wanted to grab some lunch. Too bad we settled on this place. The service was slow and a bit less than friendly, but the food was just really bad. Got the Mediterranean plate and the steak was BLEAH. Our started salads were pretty basic. The chicken parm was nasty and... More

The food was very good, but nothing terribly special. I liked my chorizo skillet with jalepenos. My daughter's 'The France' french toast was cinnamon raisin bread, with pecans, raisins and fried apples on top. My husband had the sausage patties, which were nice and spicy. The bacon was thin and bland, but fine.

I went here many times while staying in Galena. The food is always hot and fresh! The service was awesome! I really enjoyed this restaurant and the servers!

My girlfriend and I were looking forward to starting off our day trip in Galena with a wonderful breakfast from The Golden Hen, which was far from wonderful! We raved about our previous experience here in September of 2015 and what a huge disappointment! For starters, this establishment is becoming very run down! There is paint peeling on the tin ceiling,... More

I thought the food was good and the fresh squeezed orange juice was great! the service was non existent though. the waitress never came back to check if we needed anything or refills. I thought it was rude and strange for an employee to come around the tables to fill the sugar packets from a disgusting looking plastic bucket, while... More

How is it that neither the cook nor the server noticed the large green growth of mold on my english muffin? To add insult to injury, they charged me for it even after I pointed it out - and they had not told me that requesting an english muffin instead of toast would incur an additional charge! Even though the... More

We had a large group of people and they were very accommodating. Okay food, fresh squeezed orange juice and quick service.

This is definitely a greasy spoon diner. It was tasty and came out really quick but not exactly what we ordered. "Pot of Hot Chocolate" for $2.50 is a cup of hot coca made from a powder packet, the skillet was missing the potatoes and had hash browns instead (why order the more expensive skillet instead of an omelet if...
