Stopped in for dinner on a Thursday. There were 8 of us and they were busy but fit us in a wine room- the view of their pond was great. We got the sangria on special and it was tasty. Calamari app was very good. Hummus app was tasty but the focaccia was burnt and tasted burnt- saw another pic... More

Lunch on Thursday and the place filled up, not sure why...... Service great, food sucked. I ordered ribeye sandwich, it arrived on crusty French bread with sauteed onions and horseradish sauce. The steak with sliced and looked like it was someone's leftovers not a good start . french fries that came with the sandwich were deep fried at least twice,... More

I was stopping over for the night and traveling with my puppy. I google searched dog friendly restaurants and Firefly Grill came up. They allow dogs outside on their patio, which is very nice! They even have water bowls and treats for the dogs. Food was surprisingly tasty. I found it to be a bit expensive for what it was,... More

Firefly Grill is a welcome change from the chains one encounters in travel. At close to the intersection of I-57 and I-70 - it is an excellent place for weary travelers to get a nice dinner. The staff is very friendly, responsive, considers the customer to be the focus of attention. Best I've seen anywhere. The food is fresh, creative,... More

This restaurant is lovely, a mix of rustic and modern. Beautiful view. Nice atmosphere. The server was friendly and attentive. She shared great information about the general approach of this farm-to-table gem, along with mentioning some of her favorites. She not only answered our questions, but described how some of the dishes are prepared. In short, this restaurant focuses on... More

Just passing through and saw the billboard for this restaurant. The atmosphere is very chic with reclaimed wood with a contemporary twist. We passed the herb garden on the way in. We were seated at and outdoor conversation table with super comfy chairs to lean back & relax. We split the fresh garden salad. They collect the ingredients from the... More

The delicious food, great service, short wait and beautiful outdoor views have us hooked and we cant wait to return! Recommendations include the hummus plate, beer cheese & pretzels, southern chicken salad, alaskan crab cakes and the firefly steak burger! We will definitely be back!!

I ordered something called "Montana Mignon" and it was said to be medium rare. Well, it was baked inside a bun of some sort and the bun was rare, guey and the meat was mushy. If I had not added salt, it would have had no flavor at all. We ate at this place 3 or 4 years ago at... More

Traveling from Columbus to St. Louis and stopped for the night in Effingham. Told to try this restaurant by the hotel. The place has a rustic look with a pond that has fish in it. The wine list was great and the food was excellent. Each dish was well presented and delicious. The desserts are to die for. Would stop... More

Drove 2 hours to eat here for lunch on last Saturday like we have several times in the past. Closed for a wedding. Just doesn't seem right to close during normal business hours for a special event.
