The food is always good...we encourage people to go there and always take people who have never been to Chicago. My last visit was unsettling, though. My purse was stolen by someone as we ate dinner. It was hanging between my husband and I on his chair, but they are very good at what they do and even though my... More

We had to visit this place after all the recommendations. The place is decorated very cool. Lots of room. Location is great. Place is clean. Specialized in deep pizza. Staff was friendly. You need to come not too hungry as it tales a good 45 minutes to make the deep pizza.

Gotta have deep-dish pizza when you're in Chicago, and Gino's pies are the best. Had to force myself not to eat that last slice and save it for lunch the next day. Just as good then.

Had a great pizza, a great experience and wrote on the wall. The facility was very unique and you could feel the history and the commitment to a great pie! If you are downtown Chicago and you want to experience a traditional deep dish, Geno's should be on your list.

Having never tried Chicago pizza before, we were blown away. The atmosphere, the large screen TV's everywhere make this a must. Try the spinach cheese sticks. Unbelievable.

Good place recommended by our Uber driver. Didn't have to wait to be seated but had to wait about 45 minutes for our pizza....which our Uber driver forewarned us. Ordered an appetizer to hold us over until our pizza arrived. When it came, it was piping hot and wonderful. Definitely finger licking good! Service was great. Our waiter was attentive... More

We took a group of 36 high school kids to Gino's for what would be the first Chicago style pizza for many of the group. The pizza was delicious, the staff was accommodating and friendly as well as efficient and the kids absolutely LOVED the fact that they were encouraged to write all over the walls, windows, even light fixtures.... We had just been on a baseball weekend in Chicago and had a few hours before our flight home, so we decided to have one more deep dish pizza before we left the "Windy City"! We decided to try Gino's East at the original site of the restaurant when it all started back in the 60"s. It was mid afternoon... More

Waited 50 minutes to have a small deep dish pizza for late lunch here. To be fair, the waiter warned us the wait would be 45 minutes because it takes that long to make and bake the pie. The pizza was fine, but not as good as other deep dish pizza in the area, thus making it not really worth... More

We were there for a conference and happened upon this restaurant. We were seated right away but then no one came to us for 20 mins. We should have realized what was a problem to begin with. The waiter informed us it takes 1 HR for deep dish & 30 mins for thin crust, we appreciated that. But I specifically... More

Description
For 50 years, the original Gino’s East has been offering the best deep dish pizza experience in Chicago. Since we opened our doors in 1966, we’ve shared millions of our signature golden-crust Chicago-style pizzas with Chicagoans, celebrities, and visitors from all over the world. Don’t believe us? The writing is on the walls! We’re world-famous for our tradition of letting all of our customers leave their mark on our restaurant. Come by and leave some graffiti, if you can find a spot, and see if you can find it next year!

Gino’s Chicago-style deep dish is made the same way it was 50 years ago. We start with our signature, secret-recipe dough and top it with mounds of mozzarella cheese, fresh toppings, and our tangy tomato sauce. Our pies are slowly baked in seasoned cast iron pans until the crust is golden and flaky, then we serve it table-side, piping hot, right out of the pan.
Our deep dish pizzas are loaded with so many toppings that we have cook them for nearly an hour. That’s also the reason we have to put the sauce on top; if we didn’t, the cheese would burn! But trust us, it’s worth the wait. We promise. Ask the people that agree that we are the best deep dish pizza in Chicago.

Not sure what to order? Try one of our signature pizzas! The Meaty Legend is a carnivore’s dream, with pounds of pepperoni, special-recipe Italian sausage, Canadian bacon, and crispy bacon. The Chicago Fire is perfect for spice-lovers, with a layer of extra spicy Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, red onions, and jalapeno. Not a meat eater? Try our signature spinach pizza with a blend of fresh spinach and mozzarella cheese. And for the purist, we offer our patty sausage pizza, with a thick layer of our signature sausage covering the entire pie so you get tasty sausage in every bite!
