I have never had tea at a Russian tea room. We went to the Russian Tea House and had a wonderful experience. The tea house was what I expected... dark wood and red accents. The tea was lovely and plentiful. There were three platters of food: scones with clotted cream and jam; finger sandwiches; and desert.

We followed our server's recommendations and enjoyed a dumpling sampler and the best beef stroganoff we've ever tasted! We ended with tea and came back the next day to buy some to take home! Lunch would be a great time to try smaller portions of their dinner favorites.

I enjoyed the stay here. Russian menue. Great tea and beer selection. Comparably empty during lunch. Staff was friendly, prices ok.

I've eaten lunch here a few times and found it to be charming and tasty, with good value for the money. Today I finally came for afternoon tea. Contrary to another recent review, I found the price of $29.95 an astonishing bargain compared to afternoon tea at nearby hotels, where one can expect to pay between $50 and $75. The... More

I think this is their thing? You pay a lot of money and you get unlimited tea and some tea snacks. It really wasn't my thing. I like tea and I like sweets, but the ambiance feels like this is for older people? It's quiet and you can definitely have a great time catching up with a friend. My friend... More

We stopped in for a lazy lunch before going to the CSO show. This was the perfect place. Of course just around the corner, but a nice romantic spot. The soup was excellent. Stuffed mushrooms with a carrot slaw was great. I could have had another plate as a main and been happy. The beef stroganoff was perfect. If you... More

Definitely upscale dining - Excellent food quality and wonderful selections. The vodka tasting is also a must - select 3 (1-oz) infused inspired vodkas - didn't think we would finish - so yummy. Our server was so knowledge and guided our selection - we did the 'traditional method' of vodka tasting (as written in the instructions on the menu.) The... More

This was our second visit, with the first being 5 years ago. Why did we wait so long to come back? The Tea Time platter for 2 will feed a family of four. (DD age 17, DD age 11, DH and me. We left with food still on our plates.) At $68 this is a bargain considering portion size and... More

The mini potato piroshkies were quite greasy, while the beef stew had ample delicately seasoned beef and the Beef Stroganoff was also carefully seasoned, but on bland noodles. The carrot salad was yummy. Klara's Strudel would have been a delight had it been kept waiting to age longer than it deserved. The Georgian wine was ample.

Careful intuitive service. Excellent Russian tea. Gourmet sauteed eggplant and zucchini. Awesome meat dumplings with sour cream and dill sauce on the side. Vodka flights available. My favorite is the Russian tea. Fantastic pumpernickel bread. A best choice after the Chicago Symphony matinee.
