I ordered a NY Strip Steak. I ordered it medium well. I was over cooked and charred. My girlfriend had baby back ribs. This was good. She also had a salad. I had the soup of the day.

We stayed at a nearby hotel on a little staycation, and we decided to order some take-away from Gibson’s to enjoy in our hotel room. The online ordering process was easy. The wait for pick-up was a little long, but the staff was hustling. The...prices were not crazy, but they are a little high for the offering—basically, think hotel room service prices for stuff like burgers and sandwiches. We ordered two turkey burgers and fries. The fries were only OK; the burgers were both tasty. Overall, an OK experience; can’t say I’ll go rushing back for take-out, as I think there are other options that are equally good and a bit less expensive.More

Wow what a great night at Gibson’s !! Just paid our bil for $250 usd !!!! When disaster struck - we have been coming here since the 1980s..we asked for a slot at the bar and the young white woman hostess said no spots available...... I said “WTF” there are 8 open slots at the bar and she said no !! Next thing I know I am (60 year old white male) escorted from the upstairs bathroom and kicked out of the bar and my white wife (white female) is then Accosted outside of the woman’s bathroom and driven outside!! Unreal, we are told they do not want our business and we are kicked out of the bar —- are you kidding me !!! Is this because our sons roommate in black or is this because we they don’t want our kind at the bar these daysMore

It was delicious. The portion was generous and I had the smaller size. We were 3 people at lunch and all of us have been vaccinated but appreciated the protocol re: COVID at Gibsons. Our waiter was a delight and I was pleasantly surprised by...the experience. Gibsons has a reputation as being part of the "Viagra Triangle" Maybe at dinner but not at lunch. We will be back.More

One of our favorite restaurants in Oak Brook. Gibsons, will never disappoint in Food Selection & Service by Friendly & Efficient Servers. We had the Halibut, & the Sea Bass. So utterly delicious!! Chocolate Mousse Pie for desert was mouth watering. Highly recommend!!

Even though my husband and I were having a very late lunch or very early supper, at 4:00pm, the place was full. We were placed next door, in Hugo’s Frog Bar, but with Gibson’s menu. The tables were close to each other, but with acrylic...panels in between, more symbolic than practical. We were welcomed with white and cranberry bread with whipped butter. We both ordered pork: chops and ribs, that were a little dry. The chop came with a mixture of peppers, some sweet, some hot. The ribs came with an overdose of crispy fries.More

I'm a loyal customer of many years and it's always an absolute delight to be greeted by the friendly staff here and indulge in comfort food. The summer and warmer months are my absolute favorite times to relax, enjoy the sunlight and people watch in...the Gold Coast. I used to order a tiny steak that came with mashed potato and sautéed spinach; but the menu has been altered throughout the years so I typically order one of their gourmet burgers, meatloaf or whatever I happen to be craving. Two weeks ago I decided to treat myself and enjoy a burger and my server was more than happy to help keep me warm by making me a hot chocolate. All the table settings are beautifully appointed and you are served in elegance with water brought to you and of course their delicious homemade baked bread 🍞 with butter. Portions here are extremely generous so most people leave Gibsons with enough leftovers for a second meal for the next day. All servers here work as a team and everything I order is always prepared with elegance and is consistently tasty. This is the very best spot in the city for people watching and it's always such a treat to come back here to enjoy the positive energy from everyone. Just look at my decadent burger with crispy onions! How can anyone not love the temptation!More

My wife and I arrived without a reservation. The hostess was super rude and, in spite of having many tables available, told us to come back in thirty minutes. We asked if we could wait close by, and she replied ‘no, pass by in 45...minutes to one hour’... we asked ‘but you just said thirty minutes’? She was again rude and oblivious. We came back after thirty minutes aprox (not much to do at night on the street in tue cold). Instead of checking if she had any table available (again, she had lots of table available), she looked at the watch and said ‘you guys were here just 18 minutes ago...’. We felt offended at her attitude and decided to go dine somewhere else. It’s really Unbelievable how come , during COVID times, with restaurants struggling, owners are not aware of staff members turning business away for their sake of their own ego.More

We had a lovely experience here. They are doing the best they can with the dining situation in Chicago what it is. Our server was nice and knowledgeable. The 22 oz house steak is splittable, and delicious. Our Brussels sprouts came out cold, but they...brought us fresh hot ones pretty quickly. The heaters by the tables were quite warm (we dined outside in 34 degree weather). Take a blanket for your lap. The Covid protocol is great! Go and support them.More

I was surprised that it was very casual. I was there on a Saturday night and there were guys in shorts and jeans. Great place but casual.
