We drove over 30 miles each way to eat here. Worth every mile! Highly recommended if you like Puerto Rican food. Tostones, carne asada... All great!

They catered our pre-wedding party & everyone raved - including my Puerto Rican in-laws. The Pastleon was the biggest hit. Their staff went out of their way to make this a great event.

As a gringa, I have no knowledge of Puerto Rican food. I just know American cheese when I taste it. The concept of using fried plantains is a welcome alternative to bread on a pork sandwich. The rice has great flavor (like dirty rice). As others have noted, the venue is a no-frills corner diner (which is a plus in... More

My husband is a picky Puerto Rican and he really enjoyed this place. It is nothing fancy, it reminds you of the food places you actually find in PR, with murals of El Morro, and coquis painted on the walls and with salsa music playing in the background and staff cooking (you can see the cooks while you are eating) speaking... Loved the beans, tostones, bacalao & goat stew, the flavors were as good as mi abuela's; prices good, cozy, NOT fancy . Although could use a good cleaning.

We had a profound and unresolved sense of being wronged, so I thought to post this review and let readers decide for themselves. $16 for a plate of food that normally costs $9-$10!?! We entered La Palma to discover the traditional buffet-style service sitting behind the display case. Being Puerto Ricans from New York who currently live in Detroit, we... More

My wife and I enjoy the food. We drive an hour and half twice a year to get our fix of some Puerto Rican cuisine. We usually spend between $25.00 to $50.00 at the resturant in the cuisine we like. Before we leave we will spend up to $60.00 in purchases of item to take home for special meal and... More

The place does not look like much, I mean is not a fancy place by far. Food is serve sort of cafeteria style but it is REALLY good! I travel an hour for it! The carne guisada is better than my mom's shhh! And their Jibaritos are Delicious too!

The Puerto Rican part of Farm2Fork was craving some authentic Borinquen food and the farmer has become quite fond of it too and today's visit to La Palma did not disappoint. So many options made it difficult to narrow down what we would try and of course when that happens, we got a little overzealous and waddled out. The arroz... More
