Having lived in Europe for a few year, we have been spoiled with European (especially French) pastries and have been trying to find a good European bakery in Chicago. We found Leonidas Chocolate Cafe on TA and was looking forward to trying their Belgian chocolate cakes. Having sampled several chocolatiers in Brussels, I'm a Belgian chocolate snob and find Leonidas... More

I was staying at a hotel about a mile away and stumbled on Leonidas on a long walk along Michigan Avenue and on my way to a restaurant that I had found nearby. This is not a cheap shop. Expect to pay artisan prices, but it is excellent, well crafted and delicious Belgian style chocolate. I made the trip again... More

stopped by on our way back to the hotel and we couldn't help ourselves with the different types of chocolates they had. We bought some as souvenirs but also for snacks back at the room. They serve coffee and hot chocolate too. delish!

This is a tiny little shop but if you like Belgium (good) chocolate then it's worth a visit for breakfast, afternoon snack, or dessert. I'm partial to the strawberry dark chocolate crepe but have loved everything I've tried. They also have a nice selection of chocolates, ice cream, and delicious drinks.

We are a family of "amateur chocolatiers"-so we have learned a lot about chocolate. Leonidas is the REAL DEAL when it comes to chocolate! You want a "tasting experience"? Grab a chair and buy a variety of pieces of the finest Belgian chocolate and enjoy the afternoon! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff can make your choices easy to understand. This... More

In addition to high quality Belgium chocolates one can enjoy coffee drinks, nice pastries and good luncheon fare in this cozy, off Michigan Avenue, shop. Weather permitting there is also attractive outdoor seating.

This is a wonderful Belgium cafe right off the magnificent mile. Leonidas was my treat chocolate from Leuven Belgium, not a cafe there just a chocolate shop. Leonidas Cafe is the best of the old world and more. Waffles and crepes are delicious. Tarts are fabulous. Can't wait to go back to try the Croque Mousiuor.

We stopped in for dessert after dinner! The chocolate eclair was out of this world. While there we saw they make crepes to order and have many homemade sorbets. Great place!
