This is not your average ho-hum Mexican restaurant. Though it is a smaller, neighborhood restaurant, the food is what you would expect from a much higher end place. The flavors were delicious, the servers were friendly and attentive, and we loved watching the tortillas being pressed and cooked in the open kitchen. We will definitely go back!

Always excellent. This place has innovative and elevated Mexican food. My friends always get the pork entrees and very happy. My husband likes the calamari salad and as a vegetarian, there are always several options for me. And another plus is that it's byob and they provide frosty glasses to accommodate whatever drink you bring. Highly recommend.

This is a popular and very good restaurant with BYOB. The service is very good for how busy they are. Their beef is outstanding as is their fish – always something new and exciting.

This is Mexican cuisine that is recognized by the UNESCO as World Heritage. Sounds authentic to me, and the Chef was trianed by Rick Bayless from Frontera Grill. Need I say more? The mole is to die for and has over 23 ingredients. Dinner for 4 including dessert, $142 plus gratutity. Wonderful!

I had the crepes and was blown away by how good it was. The appetizers, too, were filled with cheese and amazing. Will definitely be back.

Every time we can't decide where to meet a couple to show them someplace new, we choose Mixteco. The food is outstanding as everyone has always agreed . The fact that this place is BYOB has lead us to become creative with our cocktail selections to bring. Mole sauce is the best and the lamb chops are die for!

Every time I eat at Mixteco I am impressed by how perfectly the food is prepared and presented. Shrimp are cooked to cloud like perfection, rack of lamb swims in a classic mole, a generously thick pork chop is an island in a pumpkin mole lago. The tortillas are made in house. You can watch them being hand pressed, one... More

We went with my son and his family for a Sunday brunch during a recent visit to Chicago. They were very accommodating to our 3 young grandsons who wanted different items that were not on the menu. Most of the adults ordered menu items including some unusual delicious omelets. All of the staff were very friendly and being close to... More

If you are looking for a unique eating experience, Mixteco Grill is the place for authentic Mexican cuisine. Mole sauce is the essence of this restaurant. The menu is simple – a variety of appetizers, entrees and desserts that are made fresh daily. Chef Raul Arreola, formally a sous chef at Frontera Grill of Chicago, puts his special touch to every dish he prepares.
