Great place, somewhat obscure from outside. The menu is unique and creative. The marinated grape pizza and the breads are simply outstanding.

Owner/chef Jonathan Fox of Osteria La Madia built his restaurant around his own pizza recipe. It's different, not traditional. The dough and cheese and meat and other ingredients and toppings have a smoked or wood-fired taste. This isn't your traditional thin crust cheese and sausage. How about Triple Pepperoni, Fennel sausage, Moroccan spiced lamb sausage or roasted grape and Taleggio... More

My friend and I were both traveling on business and decided to eat at Osteria la Madia as it was near her hotel. We were seated right away but didn't see a waitress for a few minutes. When she finally showed up my friend asked if we could get some bread. Her response was "You want some bread?" along with... More

I went here for restaurant week with my wife and another couple. We all got the restaurant week deal for $33 that included an appetizer, salad, entrée and dessert. The reason I say this whole meal is a good bang for the buck is the big portions that left us with a whole pizza to take home and delectable truffle... More

Amazing menu and wine selection. Pizza and deserts are just amazing. Not to mention design. Offers prix-fix menu for lunches..

Chicago is known for their pizza but I don't really like their deep dish style. Decided to check this place out after reading great reviews online. I was not disappointed. We ordered 4 or 5 pizzas for our table so it was fun to eat family style and try different styles/flavors. Had a good pasta entree also. Service was quick... More

Went here with some colleagues for a quick dinner. We ended up with ordering as much as possible, and then shared. Everything is so tasty and fresh. The starter brushetta w. mushrooms is divine. A bit difficult to find this restaurent, but absolutely worth the effort.

This restaurant is great for friends dinner, date night or other. Not to expensive and great sharing plates. The ambience is cozy and modern. Service was excellent, very friendly staff. I would highly recommend trying when visiting Chicago! Great salads, appetizers, pasta, and pizza. ;)

The dinner I had here has mixed reviews. The appetizers were outstanding. There was a warm out of the over bread with a green truffle cream sauce to dip in. The mushroom bruschetta was out of this world and the salads were also excellent. Ironically the two choices of past that I tried were not good at all. I would... More

We had our son and daughter-in-law's baby shower there last week. We went for brunch with 22 people. They gave us the back half of the restaurant and it worked out perfect. A big thanks to Brooke Walton, General Manager, for making this special day really special. We had a Prix Fixe brunch which had a large assortment of dishes... More

Description
At La Madia, two pleasures - great food and distinctive, delicious wines - come together. La Madia is an urban restaurant that upholds Italian tradition. Every day, our chefs make our pizza dough and fresh pasta from scratch from little more than flour, water, and salt. The menu is designed for sharing, with flavor-packed, wood-fired pizzas that change seasonally, inventive salads, and savory pasta dishes. Desserts are all made on the premises, in keeping with what's available in the market. The wine list is a wine lover's dream, with more than 75 wines by the glass and hundreds of bottles. And every week, we feature two of our favorite wines for just $5 per glass. In addition to wine and more than 25 beers, La Madia offers innovative cocktails, many of which are made from spirits infused in-house.
