The BBQ is delish! You can get beef or pork. We prefer the beef. Restaurant is not open a lot, or regular hours so call before you go.

I have no idea why this place gets good reviews. It has been awful for years. It used to be good, but the last few years it's really gone down hill since management changed hands. The BBQ is average at best. They're supposed to be known for their sauce, but I find it watery and loaded down with black pepper.... More

exceptionally well crafted bbq pork and chicken generously served in either heavy sandwiches or hang off the sides plates served by a warm welcoming committee of folks who'll seem like family before you're half done with your meal. thin peppery vinegar sauce is reminiscent od western north carolina and delicious. THIS IS GREAT BBQ AND WE CANNOT WAIT TORETURN

The food was good and a cheap price. Their BBQ sauce was good and unique. However the place could use a facelift. To go to the bathroom you had to walk through the dishwasher room. The staff were nice but they didn't go out of their way. It was good food but nothing to get excited for.

I was traveling through this area and a coworker said I had to stop and try them so I did. It is a small place. Upon entering I was greeted by a friendly team standing at the counter. I asked for them to recommend something and they said,"We have BBQ, BBQ and BBQ" both beef and pork. So I ordered... More

If you love BBQ you need to try Armstrong's unique style of BBQ. I have enjoyed going since I was a child. Always good and the portions are generous. Small town atmosphere at its best.

I like this place. Been there forever. Great basic BBQ joint. Good food. We eat there every time we go through Summerville. And if we know we'll be going through Summerville, we make sure we're hungry when we get there.

Having lived in S'ville all of my life, I have been to Armstrong's off and on for years. As the original owners sold to their children, the prices have increased. You must go early in the p.m. to get a baked potato, butter, dessert. Overall, the food is still great - fresh meat is used daily. The service is still... More

This authentic time capsule from 1950's or early 60's is just good as it is: basic good old southern bbq and comfort food. Someone complained slow service, but hey! this is South, everything has it's own pace and time. Enjoy reasonable prices and really good bbq sandwiches. Take the family with you, you can afford it.
