In both Hebrew and Arabic, the word "sababa" is slang for "awesome," "fun," or "cool." But it originates from Arabic poetry and literally means "ardent love," or "fervent longing." At Cafe Sababa, we strive to offer you an awesome, fun and cool culinary experience with our fresh, authentic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes including grilled chicken, fish, beef and lamb, and we hope you will develop an ardent love for our food and a fervent longing to visit us again and again. Chef/Owner Doni Tamli has over 25 years of restaurant and catering experience. A native of the seaside city of Acco, Israel, Chef Tamli brings his knowledge of the spices and cooking styles of the Mediterranean and Middle East and offers his unique versions of traditional favorites. Chef Tamli owns Cafe Sababa with his wife, Ann, a third-generation native Atlantan. Their two sons, Ariel and Gil, work in the restaurant as well. We offer dine-in, take-out and catering services. Cafe Sababa's lamb burger was noted as a "Dish Worth The Drive" on Atlanta Eats TV in November 2013. The restaurant was voted as one of Atlanta's top Middle Eastern/Eastern Mediterranean Restaurants in a poll by the Atlanta Journal/Constitution in 2012, and was honored by the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce as the runner up for the 2011 Best of Dunwoody "Good Eats" Business Award.

I have tried falafel at many restaurants in Atlanta, but Cafe Sababa's is consistently the best! Fresh falafel on pita bread with that tzatziki sauce is just a bit of heaven to me. Their salads are always fresh and everything on the menu is great....More

As a lover of Mediterranean cuisine, this spot was so good. Ample menu and a wide variety of items make a must go location. Will return for another taste.

The food is good, but this is a grill, rather than a restaurant. It lacks atmosphere and a sense of occasion: there are bench seats either side of a smallish, brightly lit eating area. The service was very brusque. This is partly our fault: we...More

We had a family get together here, our party of 9 arrived early and was seated quickly. It is not a large place, so we were smart to get there when we did. It soon filled up! Our party ordered a variety of dishes. The...More

Go there. The food is great. Seems all family run. Only draw back is not open on the weekends. Best roasted lamb sandwich ever. They also do different specials daily. We had two different meatball specials, one chicken and one lamb which we loved. We...More

What great Middle Eastern food! I have eaten here many times and it's always fantastic! Think the falafel and hummus are especially outstanding. The salads and other vegetables are always very fresh. You can't go wrong at this moderately priced, but terrific restaurant. Note that...More

Difficult to see the sign from the road because of their patio blinds. It's in the middle of the small strip mall with Dunwoody Food Mart, right next to Simply Thai. Went for lunch around noon on a Wed. Relatively small place which was pretty...More
