We had lunch at the Valley Cafe. We called ahead to find out if we might have the local trout even though it was not on the lunch menu. We were told we could. Upon arrival we were told we would be seated after we...went to the bathroom and washed our hands. This was something new for us and even though we had hand sanitizer with us, we complied. The trout was absolutely delicious as was the baked sweet potato and fried okra. Our server was attentive and friendly. We highly recommend eating at this restaurant.More

The staff was very friendly. Odd enough you have to wash your hands to be seated even though you have to come back from the bathroom opening two doors to get back.

I would never have expected to be treated rudely at the Valley Cafe. What a disappointment!!!! This was the seating hostess on Friday, April 9, at 7:00 Pm. I have been to the Valley many times and have always been treat courteously and graciously. Not...by this one!!!!!. Being busy is NO EXCUSE. Bad attitudes don't fly in the restaurant business.More

We decided to stop in and eat breakfast at this restaurant when passing thru town. The food was good, nothing too special. Coffee was good. Biscuits are not homemade, but I don’t think that was necessarily advertised. I will say that being told to go...wash your hands before they’ll seat you was a little surprising. I’m an adult and don’t usually need someone to tell me to go wash my hands. I don’t think it would’ve bothered me so much if the staff was taking other safety measures seriously. It’s not like they were wearing gloves and most were using masks as chin straps. It just didn’t make much sense! Anyway even after being talked to like a preschooler, I’m sure I’d go back in there you eat. They had lots of baked goodies in a case in there so it would be interesting to see what their lunch/dinner is like. Just be prepared to be told to wash your hands just!More

Our family didn’t visit for Easter this year so we decided to go out for lunch. We headed north and found Valley Cafe in Dillard after we decided to skip the Dillard House. They offered a nice buffet which included ham, Turkey, fried chicken, beef...tips and pork loin. The star of this buffet for me was the squash casserole and for dessert the bread pudding. Our server was very sweet snd attentive. No tattoos or piercings or purple hair made us feel comfortable and being conservative we appreciate that. All the meal was delicious and they serve delicious cakes that are on display.More

Not sure how this restaurant ranks as the #2 place to eat in Dillard, but I guess there aren't many places to eat in Dillard. I had a late breakfast on a weekday morning and the food was so, so. The biscuits aren't homemade, the...menu says they are fresh baked which doesn't equal homemade. And the gravy isn't homemade either but powdered I suspect. The waitress was friendly and fast but the hostess needed some customer service training. No good morning, how are you, just "go in the bathroom and wash your hands". Made me feel like I was a preschooler. There are better places for breakfast, like Annette's. Their breakfast was really good. Oh, and the Village Cafe rounds up your total bill. Guess they don't like pennies. I won't be back.More

We spent 3 days and nights in the area. We went to dinner here and had a wonderful meal and great service. Their desserts are homemade and delicious. Prices were very reasonable too.

Stopped in here while traveling. The owner/manger was rude and argumentative. No need for that kind of jerk attitude. The hamburgers come piled up with mayonnaise and then when I sent mine back all they did was replace the bun. By the time they returned...my plate to me the food was cold. I tried to get help and the owner would not assist me. I'll never eat here again.More
