The food on the lunch buffet was amazing. Loved the crepes, vegetable pancakes and samosas. There were some items I never tried before and all were quite tasty.

We visited this edition of Madras Mantra (previously Madras Bhavan, Saravana Bhavan). The place has been completely remodeled and looks very attractive. A buffet is now offered and contains both north and south Indian dishes. Unique was the beet poriyal, everything else was standard. The coconut chutney was amazing and the sambar was very tasty too. Service continues to be... More

Wow! Suddenly, I was reminded with Childhood memories from Chennai! The restaurant looked so fantastic. Buffet had a huge variety of foods from Idilies to Naan. The taste of food is authentic. Rasam is the best! All the dishes are exceptional. Do not miss out.

While the food was good here, the service was terrible from beginning to end. On Sunday evening (in a fairly empty restaurant), my friend and I waited to be seated while the person at the welcome station carried on a personal conversation on his cell phone. After about three minutes a woman walked over grunting and seemingly motioning for us... More

I'm not normally a fan of buffets, but I regularly drive thirty minutes out of my way just to eat the lunch buffet at Madras Mantra. The south Indian vegetarian cuisine is consistently delicious. They keep the buffet very fresh and there is always something new to try. I like how they make fresh dosas and serve them at your... More

We are hooked on Indian cuisine thanks to Madras Mantra's wonderful vegetarian offerings. We never knew there could be such wonderful variety in vegetarian dishes. We are fond of the eggplant chat, special onion rava masala dosai, any and all mutter dishes, smashed eggplant curry, and vegetable biriyani. Once in a while we also crave pongal (pg 5 of menu... We were there on a weekday for lunch. They had buffet and the place was packed. Every item we tasted was the very best. To maintain such quality in a buffet is amazing. Service and ambiance add to this extraordinary restaurant.
