Visited in early December, 6 of us for Sunday lunch, great welcome, professional friendly service, great starters and deserts but the real showpiece has to be the roast beef cooked to perfection, melt in the mouth. Excellent all round experience . Well done to all...the staff for getting this place on the map.More

We had our wedding reception at Kilshanny House and a quick review does not do justice to the night that everyone at Kilshanny put on for us. The short of it is, you couldn’t dream up a better wedding venue than Kilshanny House if you...tried. From the relaxed and cozy atmosphere, to the incredibly professional, kind, and accommodating staff (when it comes to dynamic duos, Matt and Jill are absolute perfection), and all the DELICIOUS food in between, Kilshanny House gifted us with an evening we’ll never forget. We were the first wedding that Matt hosted at Kilshanny House—we had about 60 guests and the space felt intimate, yet celebratory. It was a much welcomed break from the all-too-familiar traditional hotel ballroom venues. The drinks reception was outside in the garden and the dance floor was nestled just beyond the dinning space—the party was able to spill out onto the front patio which was a great indoor/outdoor option. Everyone felt at ease moving between tables and conversations, because the layout of the space was so inviting. That’s due in large part to Matt’s brilliance, which touched every aspect of the evening. Matt was such a pleasure to work with. He was so easy—and we put him through the ringer with guests who had specialty diets and food allergies. But even so, everything was flawless. Every bite of food in the canapés, the five-course meal, and the second full late-night feast was by far the best we’ve ever eaten. We don’t think we could pick our favorite part of it—soup we scraped the last bits off the side of the bowl because we didn’t want it to end, homemade brown bread (better than a famous ma’s bread), locally sourced ingredients, a fish course during which we tipped the bowl up to get every last drop of broth, beef that melted in your mouth, or the last bite of warm apple crumble. It’s no wonder it’s been a month and we all still can’t stop talking about the food. We had guests go back for dinner the next night before meeting us at our local and others who booked their parents in for a meal because it was that spectacular. It wasn't just the food and the atmosphere that made this evening extraordinary, it was also because of the staff. What a team of wonderful people—Jill’s front of house team, including Tetiana, were an absolute joy and filled the evening with friendly smiles and fun demeanors. They attended to every small detail and made sure the evening went off without a hitch. But most memorably, they made everyone feel welcomed and at home. How they coordinated with Matt and put down 60 perfectly prepared plates of food for our guests all at the same time, we still don’t know. But we’re so thankful for all that they did. We could go on and on about this night but in short—you could not pick a more incredible place to have an intimate wedding or to just go out for dinner. We’re so grateful for the work, care, and love that went into our wedding from Matt and his entire team at Kilshanny House. This hidden gem was the perfect place to celebrate love. Thanks a mil to you all - Kevin and AudreyMore

We recently stayed in Doolin for a week and dined at many restaurants. Kilshanny House was a short drive and was the best restaurant of the week. My daughter and I had the hake. It was a tasty and healthy gourmet fish dish (not fried)....My husband had lamb and couldn't stop raving about it. The waiters were friendly and professional.More

During a particularly bad year for me, my son introduced me to Kilshanny House one Sunday. This visit was the turning point in eating out for me. The welcome we received from all the staff was second to none, especially from Jill who made me...feel very much at home. The roast beef Sunday lunch was the best I have ever had, and cooked to perfection. The only downside was I had to share my superb crumble with my son as I was too full from the beef. I have returned several times with my family and not once been disappointed with their food and friendliness. Anyone who hasn't tried this restaurant is missing out.Kilshanny's is what good food and hospitality are all aboutMore

Kilshanny House showcases some of the finest cuisine Co.Clare has to offer. The food produced by Matt and his chefs furthers my expectations each and every time I visit. The staff are so welcoming and exceptionally attentive (their awareness to current COVID guidelines is excellent)....My final mention has to go for the CHOCOLATE DELICE - it is to die for! Huge thanks to Matt and his staff, time and time again!More

Second time visiting but couldn’t drive south without a de-tour. Stopped off for Sunday lunch and it’s couldn’t have been better when you imagine a Sunday Roast this is what I imagine. Places like this deserve to stay open and thrive when you can literally...taste the passion that goes into everything. Chef/owner Matt deserves this place too be booming for years to come. Well done can’t wait to get back.More
