Been there under the original owners. Really liked the food, as close to NE as is down here. The location has never been the best for the restaurant and now I think it is on a slow demise. Not sure if their clams are in fact from Ipswich, however if they were, I doubt they would be priced as low.... More

There is a wide range of reviews on this restaurant. We had been when they first opened and it was great. When we came down this year we heard it was under new ownership. We were the only table in there at lunch. Our waitress was prompt and courteous. My husband had the haddock plate,it was delicious, fried to perfection... More

We are so glad you took the time to review A Bit of Boston. We just wanted to clear up a few facts you pointed out so our other guests who already know them are not confused. When Gigi owned A Bit of Boston she hired and trained an aspiring young cook named JJ. He has worked at a Bit... More

the clam chowder is more like a stew. it doesn't have much salt but lots of flavor. the fish has more fish than batter and is served with a generous portion of fries and cole slaw. Server is very cheerful and pleasant and efficient. I had to thank the chef for the best clam chowder ever!!!

I don't know what all these negative comments are about. My wife and I are from Boston Massachusetts and we have been going to bit of Boston for 5 years. I ordered the whole belly clams and it's like I haven't left home. They were delicious! My wife had the blackened haddock and it was cooked just perfect. We also... More

I knew Gigi the original owner of Bit of Boston. She understood the importance of the experience of eating such a New England delicacy like whole belly fried clams. Size matters ! Eating one with a large belly is not pleasant. The smaller the belly the better they fry and the taste is amazing. I have not been back since... More

Most all seafood on menu came fried, so tried the lobster roll. Choise of cold or hot with butter. Chose the later. Very disappointed. For a 19$ plate expected more than a few morsels of lobster on a grilled hotdog bun, with fries & coleslaw! Come on man! Mediocre clam chowder, which is par for this place.

We decided to visit because of the good reviews, but we were disappointed. I ordered the lobster roll. It was the worst one I ever had. For $19, I had great expectations. It turned out to be a roll with melted butter and lobster claw meat and a few other small pieces (don't think they were from the tail). It... More
