Food was fresh. I asked for blackened shrimp skewers versus coconut shrimp and not only did they accommodate the owner cut the cost in half. Very impressive! Drinks are great and very well priced! Great server - Leona! Definitely will be back!

The Fish Camp for us is well worth the 45 minute drive from The Villages. We love the Shrimp & Grits and the Fish & Chips, but honestly everything we've tried is excellent. The location on the water at sunset can't be beat for either indoor or outdoor dining. The service is always terrific, but for extra special care be sure to ask for Summer. And the easy wheelchair access makes it simple for us to get around.

Just delicious! This place is a gym with its view of the lake, very very reasonably priced entrees and appetizers, locally sourced foods including keelan pie!
We looked upon this place but will certainly be back. I love an owner who takes pride is establishment. Innovative recipes you'll find here and of course all Staples like clam chowder that was just delicious! Paragraph they have a kids menu, locally brewed beers and a weight stamp that's very friendly.

Whenever I Come up to the Mount Dora area we make it a point of stopping into Fish Camp for a dinner one evening… Well I was here a month ago & it took the food about 45min-1hr to get to the table after ordering, no complaints made as food was good & staff attentive to our needs… we paid & got out in a timely manner!
Last nights visit was beyond disappointing & dissatisfying…. After being seated it was 15min before asked what we would like to drink, then it all went down from there, our waiter kept coming to the table, but yet would bounce away before we could order, we finally got the order in, sat there for an hour without food, we asked the waiter, he declared it’s coming soon… they knew we were there for a long period & hungry, so waiter brought us a basket of fried flour tortillas!🤪…. Two people in the dinner party ordered the Catfish all you can eat…. Well the plates came out of the kitchen finally…. My clams with linguini was cold & you could tell by crust it had over it that it was sitting under the heat lamps for some time…. The catfish all you can eat was a joke, each plate had 3 catfish nuggets… so before the waiter left the table another order was already placed for more catfish, we all finished our plates, no more catfish arrived, waiter comes to the table & expresses they are out of catfish, what would you prefer they are going to substitute another fish…. Well what a joke, we waited 40min to have them throw a piece of fried fish that was 2” wide by 2” long into a to go box for the all you can eat fish plate… we left almost 3 hours after arriving for this simple meal & ended up back at the VRBO to make ourselves something to eat! We decided to find someplace new next time we visit!

Great disappointment. Margarita was tastey but, I think void of alcohol. Salads were served before we were served our drinks. The grilled mahi was so salty that I made a terrible face and my husband wanted to know what was wrong! The hush puppies were small, tasteless and way, way overdone. The server even said she had never seen them served like that. The server was gracious enough to comp our drinks, remove the charge for the extra hush puppies an bring another entree of mahi. By that time I had lost my appetite and the dog received a treat for his next meal. My husband said it was the worse meal we have had while down here.

This is a great restaurant!! Not only are the staff very attentive and friendly, they also take pride in preparing food with healthy ingredients. They do not use seed or canola oils, and try to use locally sourced food items.

This is a great casual dining experience. The flow of customers was constant and staff efficient. We ate the cod offered on Fridays with a surplus for Saturday! Paulo is an extraordinary waiter with full understanding of the menu and providing a genuine service with a sense of humor. We will eat there again.

We went late on Sunday afternoon of Memorial Day Weekend and wish we would have gone earlier. There was live entertainment that ended shortly after we got there. We started off with a great appetizer of their Old Bay Bleu Chips - thick, homemade potato chips with blue cheese melted on them. My wife had a cheeseburger and I had wings, along with a couple of their SENSATIONAL Hazy IPAs recommended by our server.
Food, beverages and service were all A++. Give this place a shot if you're in the area.

This restaurant is great and a special slice of both America and mid-Florida. For a somewhat simple fish shack, the menu is carefully thought out (it's actually rather sophisticated) and the food is excellent. From the menu I felt the owner was a foodie and really cared about trying to get the dishes just right. There are details for the astute reader, including mentions of "grain mustard" and "fresh-cut alligator." The setting is simple (rustic in an authentic and welcoming way), but wonderful as it overlooks Lake Eustis. The staff was excellent. Friendly and inviting upon walking into the restaurant, knowledgeable about the dishes and menu, but beyond that I sensed the waitstaff was passionate about the restaurant and the food they served. I sensed the staff was prideful of their work and the establishment. A special shout-out to Leona for ensuring we had such a great experience last night!

It was a great spot to eat at! Paulo was an awesome server who told us a lot about the unique menu items and the locally sourced seafood. I would recommend to anyone wanting a good bite to eat. Alcohol menu was also extensive!

We stopped for dinner (no reservations; a mere 10-minute wait) after checking out the Christmas lights in Mount Dora. Service was a bit slow and chaotic, but I later learned that staff were preparing for a party after closing. Our main server apologized for the wait, which was appreciated. We were visiting, so it wasn’t a problem. Three family members enjoyed the Tuesday Taco Special. They ordered different grilled fish (could also be blackened or fried): Mahi, Grouper and Shrimp. The fish came on flour tortillas and there was a small amount of sauce, cheese, lettuce and pico on the side. (Maybe offer coleslaw instead of lettuce?) They upgraded (+$1.50) their side to a cup of clam chowder. Reviews of the fish and soup were excellent!! “Best chowder I’ve had in years!” I thoroughly enjoyed my “Cuban Reuben” sandwich served on marbled rye. Chunks of thick pork covered with sauerkraut, pepper Jack cheese, plank pickles, and Dijon ground mustard. I chose sweet potato tots as my side, but wouldn’t order them again. That said, the server offered to replace them with fries, but I figured I’d consumed enough calories already! We’ll definitely return when the sun is still out, so we can take in the lake view. And on my next visit, I’ll order one of the fruit margaritas. Great place to eat. I didn’t offer a five – star review, only because the service was a bit off.

We stopped off as a party of 8 off the boat and had great service by a very friendly staff. Our server Paulo asked if we had been before, and after we told him it was our first time, he went on to tell us some history about the restaurant, the chef, and his own personal experience and recommendations. We all had a wonderful time with wonderful food and even with a party of 8, always had full drinks! We can’t wait to go back!!

We went on a Tuesday at noonish and were seated with no wait. We ordered the shrimp dinner with kale caesar and garlic-parm fries and soft shell crabs with cheese grits and coleslaw. Iced Tea and a Bloody Mary. Service by Ginny was great and the food in it’s entirety was delicious in every respect. Temperature, presentation, portions and taste were spot on. Highly recommend!!

We went for a special event - dinner theater. The ribs they served were raw and extremely tough. The fish that was served was so tough it couldn’t be cut with a knife.
We paid a premium price for the tickets and left without trying to enjoy the show. Do not eat here.

We had Paulo as our server and he was so sweet. He was very reasonable with all of our requests. They were short of hush puppies and he asked everyone if they wanted a different side. He never seemed aggravated or annoyed. When we went outside he even took a family picture for us.
