In Ybarra City. Historic restaurant. Many a great movie made here. The Spanish flair is everywhere. Outside of building is covered in ceramic porcelain tiles. Just beautiful. Full bar & wines. Humidor as well. On certain. Ights the famous Flaminco dancers. Breathtaking! Oh! The food? Just as grand. You're overwhelmed with the sights, the food isn't important. Very good menu,... More

This is a charming restaurant with many beautiful rooms. It can be very busy with groups as it attracts a lot of tourists along with locals. They do take reservations. We sat at the bar and had good service. We had the 1910 salad which was good but not great. Just a matter of taste. The cuban sandwich was what... More

Was a little confused about this highly recommended restaurant in a smallish part of Tampa serving Cuban food and a name that alluded to another Latin country. All in all, I was blown away with the decor and ambience and most importantly the food. This restaurant has something for everyone; great seafood, wine, vegetarian dishes and meat entrees. If you're... More

Service is paramount. Food wonderful. We we're seated in a room with six tables and it felt like we were at our own private party. Go when in Tampa. We traveled from St Pete beach to meet friends and it was worth the trip. Have the bread pudding - even if you think you don't like bread pudding, order it... More

Love this place and come every time we are in the Tampa area. Restaurant was founded in 1905. Beautiful Art Deco interiors with 15 separate dining rooms that can accommodate 1700 people at a time. The restaurant encompasses an entire city block. We arrived late and were seated in the bar area. Cozy but hard to hear and have conversation.... More

My family and I came here for Easter dinner, and the service was horrible. I understand it was a party if 10, and we are understanding of being a large party. Our server was so confused, my husband and I were skipped during the drink ordering, our food sat next to our table for like 5 minutes before it was... More

At the Columbia you can travel to Spain and stay in Tampa. The waiters are very professional as you'd find in an upscale European restaurant. On the menu are traditional Spanish/Cuban dishes, all very well prepared. If you're into rabbit food, their signature salad (called 1905 I think) is legendary. Try to go at night for the flamenco show. Be... More

Description
Open 365-days a year, including all holidays. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Reservations accepted. Children's menu available. In addition to award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine, Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City features Flamenco dance performances nightly, Monday - Saturday. There is no show on Sunday. The Café offers live jazz Tuesday through Saturday. The Hernandez Gonzmart family has been making restaurant history since 1905 when they opened their landmark Columbia Restaurant in Tampa's Historic Ybor City, which today is Florida's Oldest RestaurantSM. Today, 4th & 5th generation family members work hard to preserve the family's legacy that their great-grandfather Casimiro Hernandez, Sr. created over 111 years ago when he opened the Columbia as a corner café frequented by local cigar workers. Casual attire is fine, but we don't allow sleeveless shirts on men. Our guests enjoy many of the same century-old family recipes that have made the Columbia famous like Paella "a la Valenciana," Snapper "Alicante" Pompano en Papillot, The Original Cuban Sandwich, and Filet Mignon "Columbia". Don't miss Columbia's Original "1905" Salad(R), prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. Enjoy an ice cold pitcher of Sangria or Mojitos, or sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo from our award-winning wine list.
