A special Holiday Lunch for 4 of us was not as positive a memory as it should have been. The restaurant itself is BEAUTIFUL! It is covered in hand painted tiles, intricate woodworking and tile floors. The Columbia is a clean, well preserved building with...More

Good food and service but nothing outstanding Because of all the hype and the price it was disappointing. If the history was not there, it would be on par with any chain restaurant.

A highway truck stop filled with trucks or a restaurant filled with customers is usually a good place to eat. The Columbia Restaurant was was packed at lunch time. My bride had the Maui Maui sandwich. She thought it was excellent. My choice for lunch...More

It’s possible my expectations were simply too high after reading all the rave reviews and having friends tell me this is a must-visit dinner spot when in Tampa. And, my hopes rose even higher when I saw the authentic feeling decor, tried the bread, and...More

Though this is just one of thousands of reviews for this wonderful establishment, it is an opportunity to a loyal customer (since moving to Tampa in 1962) to offer praise for a Tampa Bay jewel. We will again celebrate Christmas Eve with family at the...More

Our Middle School music teacher took us here when we were in town for a family weeding. Of all the places to choose from in the area she picked the Columbia. The dining room was spectacular and the Cuban fare did not disappoint. It is...More

Love the atmosphere, and love everything that Richard Gonzmart (the owner) and his family do for Tampa. The food is good, though not top notch, and the prices are fair. It's always an enjoyable experience.

Information is on our website for flamenco dance show times at the Columbia in Tampa's historic Ybor City. We offers shows every night except Sunday. It depends on the day of the week, and the time of the year for show times.

We do have a kids menu, you can find it on our website. Trip Advisor rules don't allow me to post a link to our website, but you can find it at Columbia Restaurant and add the usual dot and then the com ending.

Open 365-days a year, including all holidays. Serving lunch & dinner daily. Reservations accepted. Casual attire is fine, but we don't allow sleeveless shirts on men. In addition to award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine, the Columbia features flamenco dance performances nightly, Monday - Saturday. The Hernandez Gonzmart family has been making restaurant history since 1905 when they opened their landmark Columbia Restaurant, which today is Florida's Oldest RestaurantSM. Today, 4th & 5th generation family members work hard to preserve the family's legacy that their great-grandfather Casimiro Hernandez, Sr. created more than 114 years ago when he opened the Columbia as a corner café frequented by local cigar workers. Our guests enjoy many of the same century-old family recipes that have made the Columbia famous like Paella "a la Valenciana," Red Snapper "Alicante," and the Original Cuban Sandwich. Don't miss Columbia's Original "1905" Salad(R), prepared tableside.
