Our first visit, for lunch. Nice dozen oysters and then I enjoyed a great smoked Mullet, full of flavor. It was a very generously sized fish, and it went very well with a glass of white wine. We decided we should try this place during one of their evening concerts next time.

We traveled from St Augustine to Skipper's Smokehouse last week to see our nephew's band. We had a great time. The place has a great vibe as well as great food. We had wings and stuffed mushrooms and both were excellent. For first-timers, the place seemed like a maze but we enjoyed exploring all the little nooks and crannies. A... More

This place started as a small smoked fish shack and has grown into a funky dive with fun live music. The stage is outside and you sit on picnic tables and chow on some great fish. I love the atmosphere but it can get hot in summer. There is an air conditioned part if your just going for food

First time ever to this landmark... What a cool, funky place this is! We came to catch opening act Joose and headliner, Come Back Alice perform and man, we were not disappointed! Both groups are so darned talented and what a great way to to hang with friends outdoors under the oak trees with the stars in the sky twinkling... More

I came there a few weeks ago to hear a long time favorite musical group, The Dry Branch Fire Squad bluegrass bad. I don't know how the heck I missed this place before this--but sure glad I found it now---both to get some good food and to hear bands and individual musical artists playing my favorite types of music that... During my trip in Florida with my boyfriend we decided to try the alligator tails, so, looking online we found this place. Really cool! We order the devil crab, clam chowder - so, so good - fried gator tails, raw and steamed oysters and finally the famous blackered grouper sandwich ( saw on Adam Richman's Best Sandwichin America ) Friendly... Now celebrating 34 smokin' years, this venerable Tampa Bay landmark was purchased by three Air Force buddies in 1980 who met while stationed in Alaska and presumably sought to get as far away from the frozen tundra as possible. In the years since, Skipper's has grown from a small smokehouse takeout operation with a casual Sunday jam to a full-service restaurant and much-loved purveyor of world-class music. The architecture is a smorgasbord of "cracker" and islandy-Key West styles with overturned boats, wooden walkways, large murals dot the landscape while artfully rusted walls contain the sounds of revelry. In the Oyster Bar, a vintage moonshine still hangs over the bar while in the dining room, weathered posters tinted by neon lights add varying hues of color and atmosphere.
