I can't say anything bad about Ella's, but maybe more importantly, I can say a LOT of good. The service was great, the food was amazing, and the wine and beer list leaves nothing to be desired. I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf, which is a bit decadent to put it lightly, but oh so delicious. I like literally everything... More

Soul food Sunday. Unbelievable. We have been to this restaurant on a Friday night for happy hour when we are visiting our son in Tampa, but not on soul food Sunday. Wow. Arrived at 10:50 for an 11:00 open. Line around the side of the building. Thank goodness we went around back and came in through the shady garden area!... More

I know I will probably get stoned for this review considering most are good reviews, but after my first experience, I just don't see it. I have heard and read so many good things and maybe our visit was just one of those lemon visits but we were both really disappointed in the food. Brian ordered the Ella Mary and... More

This is no quick in and out place, while waiting for your table I suggest you sidle up to the bar for some appetizers which are unique and very tasty - my personal favourite is the rastafries. Don't let the wait time scare you, that in itself is an experience with the chance to interact with complete strangers while sampling... More

Recommended by a local, we were very glad to have mapped our way to Ella's during our Tampa stay. A nice change from the many chain offerings near our hotel, Ella's was worth the wait. We waited about 65 minutes for a table, but enjoyed the discovering the various pieces of art throughout the property while we passed the time.... More

I had about 45 minutes to grab an appetizer and a glass of wine before a concert. I should have known better because EVERY time I stop at Ella's I meet great people, enjoy fantastic service (particularly at the bar with Nick and Sean), and get treated to amazing flavors. Last night was no different. I had the tasty Jerk... More

Went to Ella's for dinner. The restaurant has tons of funky decorations and live music. There is an outside patio and an upstairs. Tried the ahi tuna tacos, very tasty. Others in party tried shrimp and beans, meatloaf wrapped in bacon and pork. The meals were plentiful and the sides unique. If you want a good time in the heart... More

We had company in town and we were trying some new brew pubs in the Seminole Heights area and decided to eat at Ella’s. It was later Sunday evening and was a bit surprised that the Sunday Brunch menu was all day long. By the time we got seated over half the menu was no longer available because they had... More

Took some out of town guests over for something different. Fail. They do a "Soul food Sunday", I'd suggest they change this to "Slow as Sh Sunday". To make a long story short, it took 4 hours from start to finish. We waited forever to get in and then another hot minute to get the food which was then cold.... More

What a great experience. Definitely worth the wait. From the hostesses to the waitress Marie we had an all around amazing experience. Marie started off with some amazing recommendations and her knowledge of specials was spot on. Never had to ask for a thing. Made us feel at home. Can't wait to return and ask for Marie. She told us... More
