Pizza just the way I like it: very thin crust with slightly burnt edges. While you can build your own, the specialty pies on the menu offer a nice variety. They are bigger than the menu's 12" suggest. Also recommended is the appetizer Antipasta Bavaro. Service was quick and friendly and we were in and out in plenty of time... More

We had a reservation for 4 at 7 pm and could not wait to try the wood fire pizza. When we arrived, no hostess at the stand. We asked a waitress for assistance and she was too busy getting drinks for those waiting to get a table, outside. I had to go inside and ask if there was a hostess available.... More

Low expectations. Blown away. Home made soup. A. Home made pasta. A. Homemade bolognese sauce. A. Gelato. A. Friendly waitstaff. Quick service. Fair price. Limited menu. Can't comment on the pizza. But what I had was killer. A. :-)

The only thing better than the service is the food. House red paired with the Penne alla Vodka was everything I hoped.

As Italian, i can say that the pizza was good: the bread was well cooked and I like the fact that one can have a small size 6" or 12" size. The Diavola had too much sausage and hence was very heavy (but I guess Americans like that) and the Bianca I took had more cheese than it would in... More

It smelled better than it tasted. Four people 4 different meals, all meh! The pizza crust was soggy and the procuitto was not the expensive Italian but a ham type: the other 3 pasta dishes were ok but the sauce was bland without spices. It could use some basil & garlic at least. The garlic bread was pizza dough with... More

I have eaten at Bavaro's several times. The food is always delicious, with consistent quality and a delicate balance of flavors. The pizza is exceptional, cooked in a screaming-hot wood burning oven in little more than a minute. The ingredients are very fresh, and you can expect a delicious offering regardless of what variety you select. The liquor menu is... More

The pizza flavor was spectacular, we also ordered entries that we really enjoyed in family, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was warming. It is just walking distance from Lykes Gaslight Park.

St Petersburg's restaurants have undergone a wonderful transformation over the past five years. What has been noticeably missing? Good Pizza. Based solely on our experience with one simple margherita pizza and two bottles of Peroni Beer, I am hopeful that this has changed. The menu offers 17 different pizzas as well as salads, panini and pastas. Can't wait to try... More

This is not a very big restaurant and has very few tables but the food is very very good. The pasta is perfectly cooked, the sauce is fresh and the nutella pizza is incredible! I haven't had the regular pizza yet but it looks so good and I will try it next time. Even my leftovers tasted just as good... More

Description
The founder and Pizzaiolo, Dan Bavaro spent three years researching, training and traveling throughout the US and Italy to gather his vision and craft of pizza Napoletana. "Our pizza is thin and soft with a slight crisp to the crust while topped with the finest ingredients imported from Italy or locally grown and organic. Our food is an art form, which is prepared with passion as I was taught by fifth generation, Neapolitan families. One teaching the oven and the other pizza Napoletana." In addition to our Neapolitan pizza we have a variety of home-made pastas, soups and desserts which are made fresh on location and from scratch. Our ingredients are either imported from Italy or locally grown and organic.
