Why smother good ingredients with so many things, simplicity is the key to good food anyone purporting to offer gourmet cooking should know that. The desserts however were very good and followed that ethos.service was excellent shame about the food.

Sweet Melissa's is one of the best on Sanibel. WE have been eating there ever she arrived on the Island. If we want to be assured of a well prepared meal with quality ingredients and a bit of imagination, Melissa's is the go to place. Melissa is one of the best, most consistent chefs around. I once asked why a... More

We had spent a week in Orlando when we went to Sanibel and went to Sweet Melissa because of Trip Advisor reviews. It is worthy of all the comments on TA. Felt like we were in New York, or London, with the quality of the food and the wine list. I had looked at the menu before we went and... More

Very nice place. Chef appears to have focused on having the food represent her approach which results in unique flavor combinations.

Wonderful food. I am not an adventurous eater, but tried different foods and all were fabulous. The dessert, banana strudel, was one of the best I have had. I was extremely impressed. Expensive but a treat for this small island. Go there. You will not be disappointed.

Sweet Melissa's is perfect! It is casually elegant and offers an innovative menu and warm, friendly service. It's our "go to" restaurant on Sanibel Island for celebrating special occasions.

I've been going to Sanibel for 5 years and have always been disaspointed with the reasturants. This was my first time at Sweet Melissa's and it was great! The drink list is big and fun, salads and apps were very good, and entrees were perfect. The resturant and bar is beautifully decorated and atmosphere is upscale. Alittle fancy and smaller... More

Lunch is, perhaps best here. Nice selection of food choices at a reasonable price. Dinner jumps up a bit too high for the same food. Bar is tiny and drinks are expensive.

We have been to Sweet Melissa's numerous times and it just seems to get better and better every time. First let me say our server was wonderful. He was knowledgeable of the menu and knew how to pace each course so we were not rushed. We started with the cheese platter which was a wonderful mix of five cheeses, and... More

My husband and I eat at Sweet Melissa's quite regularly and never had a bad meal. The food is eclectic. What we especially like is the fact that you can order smaller portions of many of their dinner choices. Being elderly, we really don't like big meals anymore. Their salads are great as well. They also have a larger room... More
