I am sad to tell everyone that the property the Maximo Seafood Shack was on has been sold and the restaurant closed. All the locals still harbor hope that they will reopen at a nearby marina. Truly a sad day for the local community.More

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately the business was not sold, rather the IGY management and owners wanted the restaurant off the property. A petition was started by locals to keep the Shack which generated over 26,000 signatures and more than 100 pages of comments...More

I have a big smile on my face learning that this place is closing down. I think it's funny and its proof that Karma works. Went to this place looking to gas up on way to sky-way and maybe get a beer and was treated...More

We met friends here for lunch and had the freshest grouper possible. Unique location right in a marina. It is literally a shack on the dock but that shouldn't scare you. Seating and the menu is limited but what they serve is great. Grouper sandwich...More

I am local to the area and heard about this place and decided to give it a try. I had the blackened grouper sandwich and it was the best I've ever had! You could drive up a tank of gas looking for a better grouper...More

Must try their grouper bites! Get there soon as the marina is trying to shut them down. Very upsetting :( Good place to catch a sunset also.

I went to Maximo at 5:00 pm on a Sunday and there was only 3 choices of meals...grouper sandwich, grouper bites on a salad, or the grouper meal. Appetizers weren't even available. To make matters worse all items were marked on the menu as "market...More

Thank you for your review. I am sorry we ran out of fresh fish by Sunday afternoon. We get our fish in fresh and when we run out we can't call a distributor and have more delivered. We get them from fishermen off the boat....More

Best fish I've had since I moved down here. Really worth giving a try. We are going back next week to try the fried oysters. The people we talked to raved about them. My friend brought home some smoked fish spread and I'm waiting to...More

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that we had run out of all of our fresh fish by Sunday afternoon. We get our fish in fresh, and when we run out it's gone. And the grouper sandwich is market price $15.00 not $15.99.

I have lived and fished on the west coast of Florida since 1977. I know what fresh seafood tastes like and this is the real deal. Its tiny and casual. Come barefoot if you'd like. A meal here will change how you define "fresh fish"....More

The best fresh fish in a long time. I had an amazing Red Snapper Special that had a wonderful pineapple sauce. Its was cooked perfectly. The grouper sandwich my wife had was outstanding. Extremely busy with a wait for seating but worth it. Everyone that...More

Simply prepared casual fish eats in an open-air setting. Grouper sandwich was good, but not out of the ordinary. Sun tea was excellent.
