Fantastic. Every dish was distinct with an enjoyable taste. Servers were knowledgeable and directed us on what to order. Will definitely be back. 10/10. Drinks were top notch.

9/12/23- we had a reserv for 6:30pm. Hostess spot on offered for us to sit in table or booth. We choose a booth. Menu placed w/ wine list. We went for the the Dine Out $55.00. The choices were many. I went with my first...course as a shrimp Asian salad. 2 huge shrimps nice crunch to it the salad it was a party in my mouth. G had the Caesar salad, with prosciutto. Nice touch. We both then had the peppercorn Filet. Like butter . Menu said bread on request, we requested , glad we did , All different types so good. The dessert, we both went w/ the brownie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a chocolate sauce. Carla the serve was Spot on. Very professional, not intrusive at all. She was very helpful with the menu ordering because I wanted to order two beef dishes and she said I thought you liked the shrimp and I’m so glad she said something because I totally forgot. Carla thank you for making our evening so nice.More
I was first invited to this restaurant for dinner with business friends who said this was their gathering place. The food was excellent. It was a place I wanted to bring my wife back to enjoy. We ate there this past week, and it did...not let us down—a tremendous experience. Great food. Service wonderful. Would dine there again.More
Heard so much about this place. Strangely no one I talked to raved about it. 🤔 The write ups were good as were the ratings. My experience: We walked in a little early and sat down at the bar. The female bartender was rude. Instead...of informing us she was expecting guests at that corner of the bar and offering us other unoccupied seats she told us we couldn’t sit there. So we moved to other open seats. Her martinis were good. We ordered dinner. The octopus appetizer was mediocre. The shrimp scampi over angel hair was tiny- two shrimp. The NY Strip was smothered in thick sauce…but temperature appropriate, medium rare. In my opinion there are better places nearby.More
My husband and I along with another couple wanted to take advantage of the Dine out Fort Lauderdale 2022 special menu. We have been enjoying this event throughout August and September, and I would say this was our least favorite experience. My husband had a...terrific appetizer which were six skewered shrimp with some other greenery and flavorings - delicious. My friend and I each had the buffalo mozzarella salad which paled in comparison to other restaurants we have been to. Small slices of mozzarella and tomato And the flavor was just adequate. My friend’s husband had onion soup and I guess because it was not French onion soup, as there was no bread or cheese on top, which was a disappointment to him.Our entrées came, and my husband had the pork chop which he described as thin and dry. My friend’s husband and I both had the jumbo shrimp scampi over linguine. The flavor was delicious but there were only two shrimp on this dish. I think Café Maxx could have splurged for one more shrimp on this particular entrée. The bread was tasty, and kept us going throughout the meal. The four of us felt that the portions were smaller than what was the normal portion, and that included the desert. My friend and I each had a split of Prosecco which also seemed smaller than the normal. All in all, we will not be returning to Café Maxx. I hope other people have had a better experience than we have. The best thing about our experience was our waitress, Jane. She tried very hard to make us enjoy your evening. Not her fault about the small portions, the lack of an extra shrimp, etc. I am glad that we went because it is certainly off my bucket list now.More
I usually rate places low so that when people look for bad reviews they get me: If you are really cheap and can't appreciate the cost to prepare fine gourmet cuisine, this place isn't for you. If you like quiet empty dinning rooms with few...people, this place isn't for you. If you don't like a new weekly menu, this place is not for you. If you are the type that constantly needs immediate service during prime time, this place isn't for you. Otherwise this place is great, enjoy and have a good time. Be part of the party.More
Food and service were exemplary. Delicious and unique. However, if you are not a regular…As the host, who is one of the owners led us to a table, we passed a few open tables in the main dining room. Instead he took us to a...small table that was lopsided. We said no. Then he tried to put us in the very back dining room. We said no, we want the main dining room. We finally were seated in one of the available tables. We have been there half a dozen times in the past 10 years and same story every time. This was not an isolated occurrence. Worth it for the food and service, but they try to save their better tables for their regulars, so make your point.More
Four of us went to dinner last night. The other 3 people had never heard of the restaurant but I had been there many times years ago. It still had good ratings so I book it. It was crowded. We sat in a booth and...were immediately met by a friendly waitress. We ordered drinks (not expensive) and then gave our order for the food (very expensive). The other couple ordered a Caesar Salad which they split. Maybe there was enough for two forks worth of salad.....I can't imagine what a full portion would be. Within a reasonable time our main dishes were served. Two ordered the Shrimp Scampi, on ordered the Sword Fish and I ordered the Duck. All the orders came out warm. My duck was raw even though I asked for it medium. All the dishes were taken back. Immediately 3 of the dishes were brought back hot. One of the shrimp dishes didn't come with the others. We waited at least 10-15 minutes and kept asking where is the other dish. It only needed to be heated. They kept saying they were working on it. After that amount of time the person who was waiting said she didn't want the dish anymore since we were all finished with ours. I called over the owner. Told him what happened and his answer was "It doesn't look like you finished your meals". He appeared to be speechless and for someone in business 38 years you would think he would know what to say. The waitress said she would take off that meal ( I would hope so since that person never ate her meal). The owner offered nothing. Not even an apology. More of an argument. So with high expectations the evening was a bust. Blame the kitchen and the owner!More
Fantastic food. Great service. French family next to us. They seemed like locals, so that says it all. If this is where French people eat French food than that is where I want to go. Don't let the strip mall dissuade you.
I have been living in PB for many years. I have frequented many great dining establishments and had been looking forward to experiencing Cafe Maxx for quite some time. As it was my friend's birthday I decided to take us to Maxx's. I was anticipating...a fine dining experience. What a disapointment, I anticipated a quiet and somewhat elegant environment. based upon the prices and reviews. It was anything but, as it was crowded and very noisy. The menu was appealing. I had the roasted brussel sprouts which were excellent. and my friend has the eggplant which was tasty. We were given a basket with a nice variety of breads. It would have been more appealing if the butter had been spreadable which it was not. My friend ordered the duck ravioli. To say that it had any taste would be a gross exaggeration . I couldn't tell what it was supposed to be. And it was lukewarm to boot. I had ordered a fillet cooked medium. It was closer to rare and I had left some on the plate as it was still mooing. The risotto-like substance that was served with it was tasty but it too was lukewarm. For the price we expected better.More
Waitress was incredibly rude She said we had to have a reservation even though there were plenty of seats only two tables had people ....we said we would go outside and make a reservation she said they didn't have anything available went online and there...were plenty of times still available for the day .... So she obviously didn't think we belonged .... So we went to Houstons and the food was amazingMore
This restaurant with the best quality food and classy atmosphere is at the end of a strip mall ! I would have never imagined but I am so glad we went and are looking foward to going back again.
Thank you for the kind words. We look forward to your return also.
We selected Café Maxx for a dinner outing for our sales team and it was certainly an evening to remember. It was a joy working with their team to arrange it, and Darrel created an incredible culinary journey for our team of 20. The service...was impeccable and very personable. Ricardo took great care of us and attended to our every need – and more. Thank you for all of your hospitality! It was definitely an evening to remember!More
Thank you very much for the kind words, muck appreciated
This dining establishment continues to serve some of the finest food in Broward County. It’s long history is a testimony to the talent in the kitchen.
Cafe Max is definitely a great restaurant if you’re looking for outstanding, quality food and service! Always fresh seafood on the menu along with a host of fan favorites, including the sashimi pizza:). My only complaint is they don’t have a dress code, and you...can very well be having a nice, expensive dinner next to some cavone in a baseball hat and flip flops. I can’t understand how any fine-dining restaurant allows such casual attire during dinner service.More
