The food is very original. They use authentic African ingredients that makes the food special a different. However we found it overpriced for the size of the portions

A wonderful family restaurant that was enjoyed by ages 13-79 in our family! The food was outstanding and the service superb! It is a bit spendy, but well worth the cost! Young African exchange students greet guests in an atmosphere that looks like the Lion King! Two large burning ovens in the middle of the room dominates the scene. This... More
My wife and I ate our last dinner out at Jiko and, while it was nice, we agreed it wasn't worth the double meal cost. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't worth the cost. We would do Boma twice next time since the food was just as good there.
Had reservations at 6:00 and we got there at 5:40 and they seated us immediately. Restaurant was not packed at all at this time. Apps were very good, bread tasting and cheese tray. Entrees were very good, filet was as good as you can get. The chef specially prepared plain shrimp for our child as well. Dessert was excellent as... More
JIko has a great atmosphere with a unique menu and great wine list. This was our 3rd visit and we will definitely go again when visiting the area. Plan to dress nicely and have a relaxing evening. We got the cheese plate as a starter which is a great compliment with the wine or if preferred this could easily be... More
I'm a food snob... there... I admit it. But I also feel like I can adjust my expectations depending on my surroundings. What are my surroundings? Well first, I'm at Walt Disney World. So, okay, I've eaten at many Signature Dinning restaurants here... the most recent being Citricos... and with nearly all Disney Restaurants, even the Signature ones... you expect... More
I went with my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday to the Wanyama safari at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and after the safari the package included African dinner at Jiko. Everything was simply amazing, people very friendly. Our guide Eddy was very nice and explained all about the animals, including all their names. The safari actually takes you much closer to... More
We love everything about this restaurant. We love the food, the service, the atmosphere. The chef will work with anyone who is not feeling adventurous and will adjust ingredients, but I've had nearly all of the entrees and they all range from excellent to spectacular. People complain about screaming kids in here and the fact is it's a Disney resort.... More
I went with my husband and five year old son to this restaurant. We had a fabulous server from Marrakech morocco- one of the best serving experiences I've had and we've eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world. I had trouble deciding on a wine and he brought out 4 to taste. He also arranged for a... More
Hi, I am going to be staying at Animal Kingdom Resort January, 2016. I want to dine at Jiko while there. I have read the great reviews and so looked at the menu - not sure what some/most of the accompanying items are - but always willing to try. I do not like spicy food at all and am wondering if a lot of the dishes are spicy. I have already "zeroed" in on the lamb and duck - both favorites - what would you recommend and do you have daily specials? Thanks so much, so looking forward to visiting. Thanks, Lauren
