Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a really nice visit to this uber-traditional restaurant a few steps from Palmse Manor. They serve comfort food with a lot of flavor. Their classic dish, the Mulgipuder (in the photo), is an interesting combination of potatoes, barley, bacon and onion. The environment...in the historic building is very enjoyable. We also liked the amiable service.More

When we arrived there was a big group of tourists who already finished their meals. They refused to serve us anything before the other people had left and they would have cleaned up the tables. The worst part is that they didn't tell us right...when we arrived, but they waited until we wanted to order.More

There was a big group with a bus and we were sent away in a rude manner. They could have told us before, but they waited until we tried to order, so they wasted or time even more.

Ate here while staying at the nearby Park Hotel with a group on a cycle trip. I enjoyed this place. Traditional decor and furnishings with a menu of local dishes. I had an excellent MULGIPUDER, like mashed potato with a lot of “fixings”

We visited Palmse Kõrts for a family lunch. Because half of our family are vegetarians we asked if the lentil soup on the menu is vegetarian. The answer was “yes”. The soup was served with ham. When mentioning this to the waitress, she said we...should have mentioned when ordering we wanted vegetarian version. So we ordered another vegetarian version and ended up paying 14€ for a small plate of soup worth 1€. Yes, we had to pay for the meat-lentil soup too (7€ each). Also other dishes were below average. And the service was very unprofessional. I recommend to avoid this restaurant.More

Excellent meal with limited but generous choice of food. Enjoyed the local estonian liqueur and the old fashioned play area was enjoyed by the adults. Very friendly staff . Recommended

Had a nice lunch here after touring Palmse Manor; more about the historical aspect than the food; it is a unique restaurant with so much charm. The food was rustic and tasty. Friendly staff. Had chicken, potatoes, salad, great pineapple juice and cake for dessert.

This restaurant still looks like a medieval tavern. Nothing has been changed about the interior, it used to be a farm; Even the waitress isl wearing an authentical dress. Also the food is very traditonial and Estonian, but delicious. A perfect stop for lunch, travelling...through the beautiful nature of Estonia.More

We were driving from Tartu to Tallinn and dropped into the delightful Lahemaa National Park for a hike. Afterwards we got hungry, and realized that the choice of restaurants in the immediate area was rather limited. This looked like the best option, a very rustic...restaurant in a huge converted barn. We were the first guests, though the room filled up later. My wife chose herring with sour cream and I selected the pork belly with vegetables, including stuffed cabbage. Both dishes were fine, as was the dessert - chocolate cake for both of us. Beer and water to drink, and a bill of Euro 31.50; certainly not a bargain, but a fair price for an honest and uncomplicated meal. Anyone 'stranded' in the National Park and in need of a meal can safely choose this establishment.More

Time has stopped in this place, the venue is in traditional Estonian style and the food is fresh and of good quality. The host is more friendly than the average Estonian waiters and prices are good. Strongly recommended.

Really good local food and nice atmosphere. They can handle really big groups as well. Prices less than 10€ main course. Eat there rather than Lahemaa kohvikann.
