You would think that a Mom and Pop business would hire friendly staff especially as we start to return to the normal..not this place. Rude bar tender. This is not the impression that I would want my visitors to Miami Springs to have of Miami.
So, after being cooped up I decided on a quest to support some local Mom and Pop operations. Today's choice was Tom's Sports Bar. I wanted to check it out and get my order to go. The place is nice, well decorated, lots of places...to sit quiet enough to have a conversation. My burger was really good. Now the bad, attitude. That can kill the best of restaurants. Service in the Miami area is not great when compared to Orlando or even just north of here. I ask what channel is the NASCAR race on, I get "I don't know". I get my burger, looks great but, glad I checked it because it is bone dry. There is no dressing, no ketchup. I ask for it, and I am sensing a look already. I ask if I can buy a beer to go, she is looking in the fridge and it appears to be hidden, where if I was where she was probably could not see it. I offer to help and I get "I am not stupid". Do you really think I am going to leave a tip for this? As I get my check I get a robotic , what almost sounds like an air traffic controller handing off a flight. My advice, if all you want is a burger, check it if you have it to go. This place lacks the personality of a friendly neighborhood bar. I think I will support businesses in my community that make me feel like a valued customer and not an inconvenience.More
We were looking for a sports bar in the area, and a couple of local people recommended Old Toms. Seating was limited, however some folks shared their table with us, which was really nice. Big 4K tv's on the wall were easy to see, service...was pretty good, with a decent beer selection. Ordered steak fajitas which were quite good. Will return when they re-open.More
Stayed at the adjoining hotel & Old Tom's was so good we ate here both nights. The mahi mahi fingers were great & the chicken pesto pasta was the best I've had in a long time. Generous portions - good service. Highly recommend.
It’s was Super Bowl Sunday ... and we were in need of a place for dinner. What luck this sports bar had room for the two of us! So room to sit and eat, large TV’s to watch pregame hype AND the food and drinks...were better than we anticipated. Great find!!More
Visiting overnite and saw the place and dropped in for supper... great spot !!!! Beer good and cold ... food was great tasting ...... but !!!! Not cooked to what we ordered !!! A lot on the rare side ... our server ( not sure...of her name ) was nice and very friendlyMore
We ate at this restaurant in our hotel. It was a Saturday night, so it was busy. It was also very loud, but I have come to expect this with most busy restaurants. I had 2 Chuurrasco Stake Tacos with rice & beans. It was...delicious, the perfect small amount for dinner. I loved the spice in the sauce and in the rice & beans. The restaurant's food was a higher quality than I usually expect from restaurants in hotels.More
